Re: [svn3972] Exception when trying to add audio tracks

Now that I'm using the other computer, there were two empty boxes in the audio quality settings. The convert/passthrough selection, and the bit rate selection were blank. When I selected an option for them, I could then add an audio track. http://localhostr.com/file/B6o2n6i/HB%20Empty%20audio.png SC

Re: [svn3972] Exception when trying to add audio tracks

I will have to switch computers to get the pictures, but - The first thing I do after updating Handbrake is to delete the Apple and Legacy Presets. This leaves me with the Regular/HQ preset which I then base my two custom presets off of. In this particular instance, I had loaded the mkv and confirme...

[svn3972] Exception when trying to add audio tracks

I was having some problems with the previous nightly, so after finishing the queue, I updated to 3972. The audio tracks box was empty, and when I try to add a track, Handbrake has an unhandled exception. I can either continue or quit, but I can not add an audio track. -Version svn3972 -Date of downl...

Re: Stuck converting HD-DVD

Just to go back to the original question, the newer versions of MakeMKV handle HD-DVDs pretty well. There are a few titles that are still problematic, but hopefully that will get better with time.

Then you can just take the files from MakeMKV and attack them with Handbrake.

Maybe someone from here should right up an article for Lifehacker, that can explain the settings and why you want them a certain way?

Re: Back To The Future Part II encode is not good

No, the rip was fine. I've had a chance to watch the second transcode, and it's fine. Must have been something going on with the computer while it was doing it the first time, is the only thing I can figure...

Re: Back To The Future Part II encode is not good

I'll redo Part II and see if it comes up better. If not I'll try and get the logs posted/attached, and if it comes up good, I'll see about getting this thread deleted or whatever.

Re: Back To The Future Part II encode is not good

I tried Pastebin twice and FF choked both times. :( I figured I'd just email the log to myself, and see if I could post it from my Mac, but it's too big for Gmail to attach! I looked again and while I thought it was just 50k, it's 50M!

Back To The Future Part II encode is not good

Hello there! I was checking my encode for BTTF II and it's pretty bad, and not even watchable because it stutters so much. As much as I would like to post the whole log, Firefox is choking on it when I try to paste it in... However, I can note that the log is filled with dca_syncinfo ok/dca_syncinfo...

What about setting the CPU usage manually in the Advanced settings section with threads=x where x is the number of cores you want to use?

Joining multi disc files for processing with HB

Hello there! I figured I'd write up something that will hopefully help people with joining multiple files for processing as a single file with Handbrake. Just to note - I tried to pick tools to do this that are mostly cross platform. MakeMKV , mkvmerge , tsMuxeR , and finally Handbrake are all as fa...

Re: Handbrake exits on random jobs

As much as I don't want to use a nightly build, I guess I'll give it a try.

However, it still seems odd to me that HB exits on the same title, but not others. I think I've had one instance where I was able to get an encode from a title that crashed repeatedly previously...

Handbrake exits on random jobs

Hello there. I've been having a minor problem with some transcode jobs just having Handbrake exit. Currently with my HD media, I've been using MakeMKV to rip the content to the HDD for Handbrake to process later. One title, Excalibur, is from my HD-DVD. The other is Terminator 2 - Skynet Edition. Ex...

Re: Converting BLu-Ray to .mkv with TrueHD

My system is similar.

1) Rip the disc with MakeMKV
2) Handbrake just the video part.
3) Demux the Handbrake output video into a stream with TSmuxer.
4) With mkvmerge, mux the video stream into the original MKV, and demux the original video in one fell swoop.

Re: Title Merge Request

I don't know if you've seen it, but you might want to check this thread on doing something similar to what you want. Also, you might want to check if the software you are playing it back with supports stacking. Of course neither of these options are a built in solution, but I think it's what we have...

Re: Preview settings

It doesn't show me anything other than a big black box with the dropdown menus at the top of the window. When it starts encoding the preview, it creates a new window for the command prompt, and then VLC opens a new window to display the preview. I don't pick the QT option since Handbrake won't let m...

[Future] Preview settings

Hello, When I click on the Preview command, I get a new window which is mostly useless. My suggestion is to offer something like two dropdown menus on the main screen. Basically, you would have a Preview section, with a drop down for which segment to preview and another dropdown for the duration of ...

If you just want a single file, then it would have to be an ISO disc image.

Re: Problems with 2001

A rather helpful update has been the new version of MakeMKV which now works with more HD-DVDs, so now I just need to mess around with the audio parts to see what I can get out of it, and HB it again.

Problems with 2001

Hello there! I seem to be having a bit of a problem with 2001. The source is the HD-DVD, which I have run through BD Clown, eac3to, and tsMuxer to get get into an m2ts file, and convert the DD+ to an AC3. The first problem is that it seems to be starting about seven minutes into the movie, and altog...

Re: Only one audio track in the transcode

Oddly, that's what HB selects when I pick the track. Which passthrough should I choose? Or can I demux the audio tracks from the original mkv, and then mux them back in after the transcode?

Thanks again!

Only one audio track in the transcode

Hello there! I picked up a BD drive for my peecee, and I figured I'd give the BD HD process a try. I used the Criterion Bluray for Sanjuro. I used MakeMKV to rip the main feature from the BD, and ripped the video track, the three audio tracks, and the one PSG subtitle track into the resulting MKV fi...
