Well first off, you are not posting any of your settings, which are required for us to help you. And second, it appears you are also not reading the forum before posting. But, beside all that, your problem is most likely copyright protection.

Re: Elgato Turbo264

Hi, im new to the forum but have been using handbrake for a while now, i noticed that the Elgato Turbo264 was released today but only supports apps that use quicktime, do you think there will ever be a way of incorperating support for the hardware in handbrake? this would seriously rock, thanks, an...

When encoding multiple titles from a disc, it is a good idea to click the preset every time you switch to a new title. Also, you might want to open the picture setting window each time as well, to make sure those settings are applied. Lastly, double check your output size in HB's main window before ...

What DVD is this? Are the problem episodes from the same DVD as the episodes that are working? What does iTunes say the dimensions are?

This might be an Intel/PPC issue. Are you using an Intel machine? I use a PPC.

Re: Floola problems: an alternative? (for PC)

iTunes doesn't like the mp4 files that HB 0.85b1 makes on my PC, so I use Floola to get them onto my 80GB iPod. This is fine except: A) I have ended up with a load of old videos that used to play fine that the iPod now seems to think are audio files and mixes them in when I use Shuffle Songs but pl...

Re: Deja Vu audio issue

I tried to use the new version of Handbrake 0.8.5b1 to rip Deja Vu. I note others are having an issue like I did. When using 0.8.5b1 on the disc you get a file with no audio starting variably at some point in the film until the end. I found what I think is the only solution. First rip with MTR, I u...

Re: Seinfeld problems

Hi, I've been trying to rip some Seinfeld discs (Season 4 PAL Region 2) with DVD Decrypter (I'm a PC user) and have been finding that some of the VOBs have errors at the start of them (2 on disc 2 and 2 on disc 4, the same two by name (i think vts 02_01 and vts 03_01), after which the rest of the V...

Some DVDs can cause HB to freeze when scanning, although this is very rare. What DVD is it? What you really need is a new computer, HB should not be run on a G3.

Few issues, 2 many Tabs, Summary is not required. Preview should probably be in another window. It simply won't work in the main window. Looks good but functionally it has issues. Keep at it though. The tabs do look nice however maybe cut down on them a bit... Summary is not required, but I think i...

The aspect ratio issue is in HB. Put a 16:9 DVD in your drive and check it out under Picture setting. calculate the aspect ratios for source, output and then change the output res and calculate it again. I get different aspect ratios. Ok, I understand a little better. This might have to do with cro...

I've never encountered this before with any DVD. HB has always successfully auto-cropped down to aspect ratio for me...sure you don't have custom cropping enabled? ...and if you want to know why VLC reports 720*480 and not 854*480 for anamorphic encodes, read our documentation. It's not odd. Auto-c...

I can't say anything to your resolutions woes (partly because I don't understand them) except that a video encoded with HB will have a set size and aspect ratio. What the video player does with it after that has nothing to do with HB. Your pause and stutter might be due to the power of your proccess...

One would hope. What I am wondering now is what has changed in the svn that allowed it to give me a slighter greater FPS with close to half of the CPU load than the G5 Optimized version? I wonder if there are plans for a newer G5 optimized version based on the svn of the next release? The new svn h...

It's been done, it's done well, not really sure why HB should do it.
HB could do it in one step and has the benefits of the queue.

So deinterlace will not be available in presets for the next release? I don't understand the logic behind this. You say "if you don't need it, you don't want it on", but then why is the user able to 'lock' it to on in the preferences? That sounds more 'dangerous' then having it in a preset...

If the video is pausing and then buffering, I would say it is a delivery problem (radio interference, hard drive busy, etc.). But if the video is stuttering, although still playing, it would be a bitrate issue. I don’t know of a way to make the ATV buffer more Did you try syncing your video file?

Ok, I tried to encode that DVD with a 24 bit PCM track and I got the white noise. I ran a few 16 bit PCM track containing DVDs and they all worked. I don’t have any other 24 bit PCM DVDs so I can’t confirm. If I could get my hands on some problem DVDs I could see if the PCM tracks are 24 bit. What a...

I think iMovie actually imports the MP4, which means it converts it to DV. So, it might be better to use a program like MPEG Streamclip that will take the DVD video and convert it to DV, then you open that in iMovie. This way you are only compressing to MP4 once.

My 2 cents... I was thinking that perhaps the PCM problems have to do with the handling of 24 bit sound data. A few years ago I was ripping PCM off my music DVDs and converting it into AIFF. Out of a dozen DVDs there was this one that gave me white noise after conversion. I wrote the developer of th...
