Re: Access violation but only one 1 of the 4 titles
Don't know what's going wrong here. This only happens with the third title - titles 1, 2 and 4 encode just fine...? ### CLI Query: -i "L:\VIDEO_TS" -t 3 -c 1-5 -o "D:\Videos\Battlestar Galactica\3 - .avi" -f avi -w 1024 -l 576 -e x264 -b 2100 -2 -T -a 1 -E ac3 -B 160 -R 0 -6 dpl...

Re: Blu-ray support?
If you're running semicurrent SVN code, then you shouldn't have trouble. If you're running 0.9.3, you might get it to work in part, but not fully. This assumes that you're decrypting it using something else (AnyDVD HD) -- there is no open source Blu-ray decrypter that supports all titles, especially...

Re: How do you handle TV shows in your library?
I have a script that automatically converts non itunes files to itunes compatible h264 files, then passes that file on to another scripts which uses the directory structure and file name to pull information from thetvdb and tag the files using atomicparsley. Then again another script that runs on m...

Re: Handbrake better compression results than iTunes???
The H.264 encoder that most studios would use for iTunes is Compressor, which uses Apple's H.264 encoder, which is...not very good. Handbrake uses x264, which is widely recognized as the best encoder available, both commercial and non-commercial.

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
Wonder if anyone else has seen this yet. I have a few .m4v files that I had muxed subtitles into using muxo. I have tried to use subler to remove the subtitle track that was added with muxo, then re-add the original .srt file back using subler. The file plays in itunes, but crashes my TV. Huh...yo...

Re: AppleScript and do shell script
Run the "do shell script" in the background. & end the script. That way the HandbrakeCLI will still be running, but your script execution will be done. Then if another file get's added to the list your Folder Action script will execute. Even though there's already a file encoding with...

AppleScript and do shell script
I have a shell script set up as a folder action, to automatically take any files added to the folder and convert them. It works properly, but my one problem is that while the script is running, any files added to the folder are ignored, because its busy running "do shell script (convert)"....

Re: Handbrake Crashes with Harry Potter...
Cool, this is a variant of the infamous 'MKV issue' -- you have H.264 in the file you're trying to convert, and Handbrake crashes. It's due to a bug in the H.264 decoding library Handbrake uses, we have a patch in development code.

Re: adding ipod atom
FYI there's builds in the MetaX packageiJoel wrote:AtomicParsley, although it needs to be compiled from the SVN.
Then in the CLI:
"atomicparsley --DeepScan --iPod-uuid 1200 filename.mp4".
I believe that should work, although I've never had to do it.

Thanks for the answers, SubCleaner is not for me, ruined my English subs which had German characters in them (Names mainly), the other 2 look good so far :D (I just hope I can add subs that aren't the length of the film (for example what should be forced subs, Muxo had an issue with them  ) C...

Re: Best for transcoding WMV?
Well... these two are incompatible, you have to pick one: i just want to keep them looking good while putting them into either iTunes/5G iPod/iPod Touch compatible container or MKV also, using #1 is incompatible with your goals according to: I could start with the Apple Universal setting, but that b...

Re: Faster Mac same settings slower encode? Help!
There's no way in hell you're using the same settings, the settings you're using in this log are insanely high for a Mac Mini, you wouldn't even really be able to encode. Post a log from the Mini, and we can actively point out whats different. EDIT: nvm, realized you forgot tags and there were multi...

Re: Feature Request: Completion time fix
Sorry for posting here, but the Trac is pretty locked down so I can't post there. This is a minor feature enhancement, but would be useful. Currently, the estimated time to completion appears to be based off the time since an encode started. So if you pause an encode, or if you put your system to s...

without an activity log? no [Censored] clue. are you trying to stream right now? because the older HB would have done lower bitrate, meaning lower quality, but also easier to stream

MetadataHottenanny seems to just have fi...

Definitely use SubCleaner (http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Word-Proce ... aner.shtml) on your SRT before using Subler. It is intended for use with the AppleTV, and does an excellent job of making my SRT files look fine in Quicktime.

. The log when HandBrake reads/analyzes a DVD says, "x264 [warning]: width or height not divisible by 16 (716x480), compression will suffer." Is this telling me it cannot Analyze a frame or Motion Estimation or Subpixel Motion Estimation in 16x16 or 8x8 or 4x4 blocks because the dispropor...

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
I imported an SRT using Subler to a recent HB encode, and noticed that iTunes/QT doesn't seem to display three-line subtitle blocks. The AppleTV seems to by combining lines 2+3. Does this go along with what others are seeing, and is there a way to make these display properly in iTunes? btw SubClean...

Btw, a new version if available on http://code.google.com/p/subler/ . Added a way to change the language of tracks and the name (but the name will be saved onl...
