The log that is required under the forum rules would be MUCH more helpful in helping you. Could we see that, please?
Also, knowing what you're looking for in the upload would help, too. If you're uploading to a service that re-encodes anyway (like Youtube), your efforts are kind of useless.

Re: Handbrake hangs at "scanning title 9 of 13"
The point is that the MKV files are great as input to Handbrake. Many of us use MakeMKV or other ripping software as the start of the Handbrake work flow.

If it's burned into the video, no.
If it's a subtitle, perhaps.

Re: Can't encode this video which plays fine on VLC
It's not just Bluray where Lionsgate puts fake titles. The Divergent DVD has 5 different versions of the movie, from 1:36 through 2:20, with different scene orders. Total ripped size of this 8GB DVD is over 23GB, not including the extras. When ripping it with MakeMKV, it reported a lot of audio sync...

Re: Can't encode this video which plays fine on VLC
In the case of at least two titles mentioned, "Divergent" and "Expendables 3", there are multiple titles on the disk that could be interpreted as the "main feature". And the differences are in the number and order of scenes. Pick the wrong one, and it could have stream ...

Have you looked at the "sticky" topic on subtitles in the Windows section? "Forced" is subtitles that are intended to be displayed when you're playing dubbed audio, for signs and such that are still displayed. "Burned in" means that the subtitles are actually part of th...

Re: Inability to deinterlace a video (NTSC)
The problem is that, until we see the log, we do not know anything. For all we know, the video was previously deinterlaced, or scaled to a different size while interlaced, or any number of things. Starting a second topic doesn't help matters, especially when you remove the log you posted a link to. ...

Re: ISO Encoding Stopping After 5 Minutes of Video
At a guess, it looks more like the ISO was created by a program that replaces unreadable sectors with zeros. This is sometimes a good thing, depending upon where the bad sectors are, but usually not. You might try ripping the disk to MKV files using a tool like MakeMKV, which will report errors, rat...

Re: Subtitles from MKV not on exported MP4
I focused on 2 because your query said to pick the third track... which would be 2 if the scan-for-forced had not failed. Best way I've found (and 95% or more of what I process involves subtitles) is to simply play the MKV file in VLC, and switch between the tracks. Different vendors do subtitles di...

Re: Hard and Soft Subtitles Guide
A lot depends upon the type of subtitles. If they're image subtitles (PGS or VOB), my experience is that they're scaled to match the new size when the video is resized. Embedded text subtitles.... the ASS/SSA subtitles I've worked with seemed to render properly. I'd suggest starting a separate threa...

Re: How to name chapters with CLI?
The GUI creates a CSV file, which is then referenced in the encode. The format of the file is similar to:
On the CLI, you would include the path to that file, as in:
Code: Select all
1,Opening Titles
2,Part A
3,Part B
4,Part C
5,Credits
6,Preview
Code: Select all
--markers="C:\ChapterMarkers\Bleach-chapters.csv"

Have you checked your Event Viewer logs to see if they mention handbrake? Also, make sure that you do not have the queue manager set to close handbrake when the queue is finished. If you use this feature, it is "sticky", and the next time you use the queue, it will close handbrake when it ...

Re: Completed rip (to credits)... Does that mean error free guarantee?
It is far easier to tell if you got a "full rip" if you use a tool intended to rip.... they have better error checking. Tools like MakeMKV will say if there were errors that prevented it from reading everything. So far, I can't remember any track that MakeMKV said "File saved" on...

Re: In search of Dubbed English Audio Track
Let's start with any of them, really. Part of what we need to know is what Handbrake saw when it went through the file, as far as tracks.
Sometimes tracks aren't marked the way you think they are - a lot of disks I get have tracks marked as English when they might be Japanese, Chinese, or Malay.
