i've been playing around a bit with nightstrm's "best settings" for atv/quicktime/iphone, but only just recently. i guess using target file size is just a habit for me... maybe i should move into the 21st century :roll:

I think mduell was making a bit of a sarcastic joke. All three of those options are exclusive. Changing the bitrate will change the target file size, etc. You can only set one because each would override the previous.

The Godfather is a very long film. HB will have problems if the output file is over 4GB. Try using the setting for "Target File Size" and keep it under 4096MB or a little less to be safe (including whatever bitrate you use for audio).

1GB is large enough.

The only limit is 4GB. It has nothing to do with ram. Simply set the target file size to between 1000 ~ 2000 (MB) Thats more than enough for good quality video.
