Sure - it's what TedJ said. Your app doesn't handle AC3 passthrough.

AFAIK, the Touch G2 can grok CABAC, which pretty much matches your observations. It doesn't matter whether it's streamed or not.

Re: Necessary feedback on the forums (Got a gripe? Keep it here)
I appreciate that you know how to run this project better than we do. We were the ones who made the conscious decision to share what we do with the public, and as such, that happens on our terms. There's certainly no requirement that you like it - and if you don't, there's nothing mandatory about yo...

I would recommend contacting Apple Support or consulting one of their support forums for assistance with this issue.

08 indicates octal to the shell, I'm not sure what 09 indicates but it's something similar. Leading zeroes should be stripped as you indicated.randman wrote:I don't know what the root cause of this error is.

Please don't hijack an unrelated thread and please don't set the quality to 100 if you don't know what it means. Use a preset and don't tinker with the options without first reading the documentation.

Administrator on your machine != administrator on a remote machine. It's working as designed.

A forum search for "batch" will return all sorts of interesting information, including:
- why it doesn't currently exist in HandBrake
- a variety of "solutions" to the "problem" for various platforms in the form of scripts and GUI tools

This is definitely permissions - HandBrake simply can't write the output.

It won't resync on a ratings change - try removing it from ATV and re-adding it.

Speaking of entitlement... (this isn't directed at anyone in particular, honest) I suppose that's one of my biggest issues, honestly. Somewhere along the way people got the idea that the 'net is some sort of democracy, presumably because so many fantastic services are available free of charge (and l...

Re: AppleTV Issues: Video Format Not Recognized
Will having detelecine enabled be fine for all encodes? The current average fps of the encode is now ~7.26 on the HB status line. Is this simply a measure of the current encode and not the final product? It gets things wrong sometimes, but reasonably rarely. Yes, that's a measure of the current enc...

Not really, because they are mixing all the specs together regardless of format. That having been said, *if* what it says is true, AC3 in MP4 should be achievable - try a rip using the Apple TV preset and see if it plays (you _might_ have to rename the extension from .m4v to .mp4 depending on how we...

We have no clue what capabilities your player has w.r.t. Matroska-wrapped content. That having been said, Dolby Surround and Dolby Pro Logic (II) are two different names for the same thing - one is the trade name (DS) and the other is the name of the underlying technology in the *de*coder (DPL/DPL2)...

Windows 7 will not let you write outside of C:\Users\<Profile> unless you run HandBrake as administrator.

Re: How to preserve resolution/maximum quality?
Archiving usually assumes you will be archiving the unmodified source and converting *it* to the desired device-specific target format...otherwise, what's the point? By encoding a lossy source (H.264 Blu-Ray/HD) into a lossy format (H.264 main or high profile) to convert a third time to a lossy form...

08 is treated as an octal. The script needs to strip leading zeroes.

That's precisely what strict means - use the absolute cropped dimensions unmodified. Loose does mod 16.

Full disc extraction is preferred, but you need to point HandBrake at the VIDEO_TS directory, not a VOB within it.

Serato is quite clear on their download page that it is a preset of their own creation, supported by them, and is in no way affiliated with HandBrake except that they use our application. We have been quite clear to Serato and their users that we offer no support for this whatsoever.
