Re: Crop movie to fit screen from top to bottom of a screen
You will have to set up manual cropping values, because the automatic crop tries to preserve the aspect ratio.

Re: upside down images in video transfer to Handbrake
Multiple topics with a blatant disregard for providing required information. Handbrake does NOT change the orientation of video UNLESS TOLD TO DO SO. That leaves TWO possibilities, which your "I do not need to give you logs" would tell us: 1) You are encoding video from an iPhone that was ...

Re: Autorename does not do its job on running queue
You have to turn on one of the auto-naming options in MakeMKV to get the disk name included. But not everyone explores the option of programs. As for Handbrake, if you go to Tools->Options->Output Files, you can use the source folder name as part of the automatic naming, which would go a long way to...

Re: Re-handbrake'ing files
I'm still learning a lot of the stuff. Main thing is what options were used, and what was seen by handbrake when it read the file. A LOT of things affect the output. "Noisy source" videos are especially bad. The original could have been converted at a low quality setting, and reencoding it...

Re: Re-handbrake'ing files
1) without a log file, it's nearly impossible to tell you why a particular encode did a particular thing. 2) you can change the names of audio tracks, but not subtitle tracks, within HB. Other tools exist that will let you change the track names. 3) generally speaking, an up-converted file will look...

Have you clicked on the "switch to defaults" button on the subtitle tab, made your changes, and saved the modified preset?

Maybe someone missed the part about 32-bit versions not being supported anymore, beyond the release version, which is why they want to run the 64-bit one, but not badly enough to update to a system capable of it?

1. The audio tab in handbrake refers to the audio within video files to be encoded.
2. Handbrake is not intended to remove copy protection in any case.

Re: Forced Subtitles: What Is Your Personal Process?
"Always displaying them correctly" is a function of looking at a lot of things. In the case of an MKV file, there are flags to look at, and some players actually do. But, with a BD, in addition to flags in the files, there is Java code in menus that can change defaults, and play lists that...

Re: Forced Subtitles: What Is Your Personal Process?
Not mkvmerge. I extract everything for a title (all audio and subtitle tracks) with MakeMKV, the view the resulting MKV file with VLC to determine which subtitle tracks are "correct". Then I use handbrake to encode the file, putting the forced subtitle track in the first slot. Most players...

Trying to keep things separate between the sites - this is Handbrake support, after all. When people post HB issues on makemkv.com, we strongly suggest they head over here with their activity logs. ;) But to the point, both Handbrake and MakeMKV are getting an error from the operating system that th...

No. It isn't what handbrake is intended for. Chapters can be saved in the resulting files, but not menus.
If you want the menus, rip to ISOs, and leave it that way.

Re: Subtitles not centered
There is no indication in the log that you asked handbrake to burn the subtitles in, so it copied the subtitle track through from the source to the output. At that point, it is up to the player to display them. I have had problems with VLC in the past not placing subtitles properly when the video wa...

Re: Merging two videos with different languages into one
mkvmerge could be used to create an MKV file with all of the pieces, then ffmpeg could re-mux it into an MP4. Not an integrated solution like the others mentioned, but it is something available on all the operating systems.

Re: Subtitles in MP4
You cannot put PGS subtitles from bluray into MP4. You will receive a warning if you have multiple PGS tracks, because only one is supported, and that one will be "burned" in to the video, even if you uncheck the "burn in" box for the track. Actually, support for VOB subtitles (D...

Some subtitle types can't be put in an MP4 file. When you ask it to, they're burned in.

Have all other installations been completed? Many programs will tie up the installed programs information until you reboot the computer to complete any tasks that involve files that are running, so you can't start a new install.
If rebooting does not clear up the issue, report back, please.
