Re: OpenCL Nightly Builds

@HandyMan any chance you could upload a sample that trips up the deinterlacing please? I'm gather samples for various problems to send off to them and I don't have one to hand that produces that. I'm assuming it was the J.E_20130201_19002000.ts one? here is 99mb of it : http://gfile.ru/d/tf/1b805af...

Being on the subject ... what about AC3 3.0ch? I haven't found a way to go from 3.0ch 384 to 3.0ch 256 Kbps with Handbrake. Re: OpenCL Nightly Builds

I ran into problem when rebooting after system update before. Until I figure out that I had to wait for restore point to finish ! Last night it just froze, Had to reset, power down, power up, it came back ok. Nothing much to see except the power faillure in event log. Yes OpenCL seems ok but no FPS ...

Re: OpenCL Nightly Builds

I've added a warning to the first post in this thread and on the nightly build page. It seems hardware decode has the potential to cause BSOD / spontaneous reboots and/or crashes inside the graphics driver which it may or may not be able to recover from. Given my Raid array is currently rebuilding ...

Re: OpenCL Nightly Builds

I think subtitles will be back in 5240. You won't be able to use hardware decode though if you select them, as the hardware path doesn't support closed captions. Yup they are up ... but HWD vanishes :!: I disabled the subtitle in Options, I load a file, no subtitles get selected and HWD disappears....

I think subtitles will be back in 5240. You won't be able to use hardware decode though if you select them, as the hardware path doesn't support closed captions. Those files were installed by Intel. There are probably also AMD versions of the same libraries installed on your system too. I dunno wha...

Re: OpenCL Nightly Builds

Did some test with OpenCL 5239svn same results bad deinterlace, so the option in the Catalyst control panel doesn't change anything No subtitles either. Same file with Nightly 5239svn subtitles ok but it is slower by 10% than OpenCL all unticked! even without subtitles decoding ? I found these 3 tim...

Re: OpenCL Nightly Builds

You can try installing two different builds in two locations. The issues with double installation is that both packages Nightly and OpenCL have the same name so there is only one installation present in Control Panel/Programs section,so I have to remove the 'other one' by hand before installing a n...

Re: OpenCL Nightly Builds

Firstly, Nightlies are fixed, so grab a new build to make sure you have the latest. Interesting. I'm willing to bet that Hardware Decode is using the system settings in AMD's control panel. In there, you'll probably find deinterlacing turned on. This would explain why decomb is doing very little wh...

I'm not sure running all benchmarks at once will be the worse case!
Just running Prime95 alone should strain the system.

Did a long run on the same file same preset different results. One is that the OpenCL seems to deinterlace the clip ... instead of decomb ?! Which messed the encode, there is clearly interlace visible :x Then different compression: OpenCL svn5232 [21:28:33] decomb: deinterlaced 7 | blended 135 | unf...

Re: OpenCL Nightly Builds

Driver issue with AMD or Intel? I assume with Intel, so they simply should leave them out of OpenCL acceleration business as long as Intel cannot make a good driver. I guess they had to fix somethings in the silicon to make it work, they did release chips with HD4000 soon after the HD3000. I wonder...

SVN5199 No way to remove Extra Option from preset

Win7x64 SVN5199
So I save a preset with 'Extra option'
load the preset
empty the Extra option
update the preset
switch preset
reload preset and the Extra Option is still present!

Not a big issue, restart from High Profile will empty and create a new profile to clear the Extra Options in x264

I'm willing to bet the the HD3000 is not compatible and it's not able to get ahold of the 6850 but it still knows it's there, which is causing it to not correctly fall back to software. I'll mention it to them to see if they have any hardware like this to...
