Re: PGS Subtitles
I have just re-ripped Avatar, using MakeMKV and extracted only the forced subtitle track, (english) and re-encoded it with handbrake, (with only burn-in selected in the Subtitle menu of HB, forced sub unchecked) the subtitles stay on screen for very long periods of time, till the next forced subtitl...

Re: No Video for Fox Tivo HD files
I have the mpg 2 component installed. The issue is any mpeg source file, other than Fox network, TiVo recorded files show up fine, Fox network is the only recorded file, (from a TiVo HD) where HB will not display video.
VLC displays video for the same file just fine.
VLC displays video for the same file just fine.

Re: PGS Subtitles
One other thing I can mention is, when I extract the the PGS subtitle track using terminal command line, (from the same MakeMKV file) creating a resulting .sup file and then convert that file to .vob format, then mux that back together with the MKV file, (eliminating the original PGS track from the ...

Re: PGS Subtitles
So, if I set MakeMKV to extract only the forced subtitles, (uncheck the left outer most subtitle box in MakeMKV) leaving the forced subtitle box checked, the resulting Handbrake encode from this MKV file, (not selecting the forced check box in HB subtitle panel) will allow the subtitles to fall off ...

Re: PGS Subtitles
I just encoded Avatar, using the first PGS sub track and used the forced only option in build 4658, it work great, only thing with avatar was that being there was no end timing to shut off the subtitle, it remained on screen and didn't turn off on the final sub for any given area where subs were nee...

No Video for Fox Tivo HD files
I use a Tivo HD to record Mpeg2 files off of Fox network. The video has never been displayed in MpegStream Clip, so I edit out the commercials using the audio as a queue for when to make an edit. I check the edit in VLC, which does show video when played back. My question is why is it that only the ...

Re: Sub titles & HD audio
Sorry, I made a poor assumption. You should also know that all of my encoding is for Apple TV. What I'm seeing under the "Track" headings is as follows: The top track shows: 0:English (truehd) (5.1 ch) The second track shows: 1 English (AC3) (5.1 ch) Just so that I'm using the correct trac...

Re: Preference pannel (When Done options missing!)
I was just looking at some of my old posts, and came across this one about the preference for shutting down handbrake, when it finishes encoding. I noticed that "jbjoret" mentioned that the Mac build is the only one missing this feature. It looks like "jbjoret" post was back in F...

Re: Sub titles & HD audio
Once again, your reading my mind, this is exactly what I was wondering about. Looking at the MKV file I have, (from a Blu-ray disk) I see the True HD AC3 audio track and the AC3 5.1 audio track. Just so I get this right, the True HD AC3 track doesn't have a pass through option that I can see, (just ...

Re: Sub titles & HD audio
Thanks! I've been redoing all of my Blu-ray movies, (due to HD audio support.) So I'll just hold off doing those Blu-rays that are DTS HD for now, being that they are already encode from the core DTS HD audio already. I'll concentrate on those titles that are Dolby True HD for now, till DTS HD is fu...

Sub titles & HD audio
I found an irritating problem when muxing PCM, True HD, or DTS HD audio and PGS converted sub titles, (to vob subs.) Now that Handbrake can convert the the above mentioned HD audio tracks, to AC3 6 channel discrete audio, (very nice by the way) when I try to take the original MKV blu ray file, (crea...

[Fixed] Preference pannel (When Done options missing!)
I noticed that in the latest build "3760", in the preferences pane, under the heading "When Done" the button for selecting shut down has been removed. Was the deliberate or a mistake? I use this setting quite often to tell hand brake to shutdown after the encodes are finished.

Re: Adding SSA Subtitle Support
Please don't get rid of code that may one day allow vobsubs in MKVs We already support VOB subtitles. Don't worry, I just added more support for VOB subtitles - they aren't going away. Then I'm confused (which is my normal state anyway). I guess what I need Handbrake to do then is to support...
