Re: How to recode to 16:9 a 480x576 source
Why do you want to make it 16:9 when the source appears to be 4:3? You'll either have to crop or stretch the source, neither of which is a terribly good idea.

Try opening the folder "~/Library/Application Support/HandBrake" and manually delete the Queue.plist file.

Did you take my advice regarding trying a nightly build? There have been some changes in the DVD parsing code over that last year.

Correct, DV and DVCAM are the only formats I've encountered that are bottom field dominant.Rodeo wrote:For DV, yes. AFAIK most TV/DVD/BD content is top field first.lostcub wrote:I never showed anything like that, but in general Bottom is first.

Re: Title Specific Source Still Not Ripping In Sequence
What app are you using for playback? I've occasionally had issues with VLC misrepresenting the title. I would also try updating to a recent nightly build.

Re: Matching MediaInfo to settings / recovering old settings
Your suspicion regarding video codec is correct - somehow you've started using the MPEG-4 encoder rather than the H.264 encoder used in all the built in HandBrake presets. In particular, the mediainfo output for your earlier file appears to be HandBrake's default "Normal" preset.

Funny looking file you have there... why did you resample the audio to 44.1 KHz in your source?

You'll need to pre-rip prior to encoding, as HandBrake no longer reads encrypted DVD sources.

Re: Why can't I set a Target Size when converting a video?
You can't, target size was removed several releases back as it was temperamental and prone to error. You can gain the same functionality using average bitrate encoding in conjunction with one of the many online bitrate calculators . Please search before posting in future, as this topic has been cove...

Re: Ripped File Transferred to external becomes corrupt
Is your external drive formatted FAT32, by any chance? If so, and your encode exceeds 4GB in size, then the file may be truncated when copied to the external drive which would corrupt it.

Re: encode preview -> show progress in taskbar
Seems a little redundant, since all encode activity during preview generation is already written to the activity window/log. Individual encode logs for each preview would generate a lot of clutter.

Depending on which GUI you're using, there should be an option in the file menu to add all titles to the queue that will do what you want.

I'd still try updating to a nightly build as changeset 5921, although it was designed with embedded artwork in mind, may resolve your issue.

Are you pre-ripping to HDD or have libdvdcss installed? Have you done the initial region set on your drive? If you have and the problem persists, please post an actiivity log.
