Re: codepaths for ATI Stream, Intel Quick Sync, and NVIDIA C
well that was a big waste of time, everyone claiming this and that, give me a link to someone showing that sandy bridge accellerated encoding is worse quality, at the same speed, or slower at the same quality. Don't give me a link to people just claiming such things. Provide a link with hard facts ...

Re: Does not encode
I'm not sure why, but it looks like ffmpeg is not decoding any frames from your source avi. Since your source file already has an h.264 encoded video track, you might want to try using ffmpeg to directly extract that track into an mp4. Though, you may still have to convert it if you run into compati...

When I'm using a Windows machine, those are the same steps I use. I use MakeMKV when on my Mac.

Re: Stuttering audio with AC3 Passthru
You don't need to use MakeMKV. The point Ted was making was to ensure that you are selecting the DTS core track embedded in the DTS-HD track. Using your existing process, in Clown_BD, when selecting the audio track you want, make sure you are selecting the DTS core, and only the core (it should just...

Re: Stuttering audio with AC3 Passthru
You need to extract the subtitles from the MKV file and then use BDSup2Sub just as you did before.

Use MediaInfo to get info about the two files that you've tried, and post it here.

I think if the developers could guarantee this would be "future proof," they'd be making a lot more money playing the lottery.

Re: Artifacts with white text on contrasting background
Your links didn't work for me, so I wasn't able to look at your samples, but I know that when I ripped it, I found some artifacts in the opening credits of TS3 that existed on the Blu-Ray source, so that might be what you're seeing.

Re: My encoding framerates almost tripled in 0.9.5!
You guys might want to seriously consider using better quality options if you're getting those frame rates. I'm lucky if I get over 60fps on SD sources, and 17fps on HD. Then again, I tend to err on the side of quality over speed.

Re: 0.9.4 -> 0.9.5 frame rate question
I am experiencing the same behavoir using Plex (on Mac Mini - latest with HDMI out). I know this will sound silly (and I am a newbie) but with 0.9.5 it feel the encodes are different... I am seeing audio/video sync problems for the first time after upgrading to 0.9.5. Using High profile but to MKV....

Re: Bluray encoded to "high profile" streaming problem
I don't see any obvious problem with the file that would cause the issues you're seeing. My guess is that it is something to do with your network. You're streaming between machines within the same network, correct? Not over the Internet?

If you're planning on encoding 1080p video for a screen with 600 lines of resolution, you're going to be wasting a lot of storage space on the device.

Re: Apple TV - 5.1 channel playback
If you actually used the Search at the top right of your screen, you'd know the answer is 'yes,' but that you have to create 2 tracks in your encoded file, the first being AAC, and the second being AC-3.

Re: Is the Detelecine filter supposed to drop this many fram
So, it sounds to me as if you will need to stick with Decomb only for this source, and change the RF settings if you want to decrease the size. Detelecine isn't going to help, obviously.

Re: Is the Detelecine filter supposed to drop this many fram
That only made the problem worse. Besides, the show has 30fps parts, so that wouldn't have been a solution anyway. Then try it with a framerate of 29.97. Detelecine is not going to do much to 'keep the file size reasonable'. Then why would the file size randomly increase 100MB's? The only thing I c...
