MPEG Streamclip may be able to read the AIC file and output to something useful.
But yea, not really a HB question.

Re: Encoding in using MP4 Container
Change your Windows Explorer settings to show file extensions.
You renamed it from movie.m4v to movie.mp4.m4v since the extension was hidden.

The computer should remain responsive during encoding. In Activity Montior you can drop the priority of HandBrake to low.

Re: iPad Encoding
Hi. I´ve been using HB for several years. In fact I have hanbraked more than 100 movies in an external hard drive. They are either .mp4 or .mov format. Question is: I´m about to get an iPad and after testing on a borrowed iPad none of my movies can be seen on iPad. What is the procedure focused on ...

Other programs that rip to an ISO/VIDEO_TS should be just as fast and also lossless.

Re: Sourcing multiple files ??
Thank you! I have managed to get the build 94 and it allows selecting a folder as source. Is there a way to add all titles to the queue rather than one by one? I am now importing 350 clips from my stupid digital camera and it takes me more than 1000 clicks... am I missing something? Thanks! Don't p...

A trivial shell script can do thousands of files at a time... look around the forum, there's plenty of examples.

The rule of thumb is 6 points on RF will double or halve the size of the video track. So RF 26 would give you about 2GB total.

Re: MKV > MP4 Not retaining Chapter markers
Don't use the Apple TV preset for iPad encoding; it's horribly inefficient to cope with the limitations of Apple TV. Download the nightly and use the iPad preset. Also I'd suggest constant quality encoding rather than fixed filesize; just adjust the Rate Factor to hit about the size you want.

Re: Better FPS on my copies?
75% quality is excessive; you're not going to see improvement above 60-65%. Can you be more specific about the quality issues you're having? What defects are present in the encoded movie that are not present in the source? Also your title is unrelated. If you want faster encoding speed use a simpler...

The normal preset is pretty restricted, try the High Profile preset (minus the AC3 track) if it's for playback on a computer or other capable device.
