Without having a copy of your video on hand, we need the next best thing - the logs handbrake made saying what it saw and how you asked it to process the file.

Implementing something with limited interest probably isn't going to happen unless someone with a strong interest also happens to be a programmer capable of doing it.

And we really can't answer a lot of questions about handbrake on XP, because it hasn't been supported for a LONG time. It's quite likely that whatever issue you're running into was fixed 4 or 5 years ago. It could be as simple as your SRT character set isn't the same as you told handbrake to expect....

If you want a subtitle editor, there are other applications designed for that.

Add "2> logfile.txt" (or pick a different name) to the END of the command line you're using now, and capture the log of the encode. That will show us what you're doing now, which will help with tweaking. Include the command line itself when you post it here.

Are there any entries in the Windows Event Viewer for when this happens? If so, can you post them, too?
