Wow. That is actually quite impressive (assuming the left was before and the right was after).

Re: Family Guy Fact-Ups Appearing
Rodeo - I realize that. The reason I chimed in was due to the fact that very few people are even bothering to try one or two alternatives before posting. A simple check of the length of the movie in DVD player, followed by a comparison of the title lengths in Handbrake, would have solved this. It's ...

Re: Alternative tagging app besides MetaX?
Subler just had an update, that while on the front end looks minor, was quite major. It now fetches tags via Tag Chimp. Just tried it to tag a season of a TV series and found it to be basic, easy to use, and included the cnID tag. Just my $.02.

Re: Is it possible to make a dual HD/SD file for iTunes?
Just for the record - patience is the key. Altering the file as it exists in iTunes will result in a change. It just didn't appear in the .79 seconds I gave it. It will sometimes take up to 10 seconds, but will appear whether you attempt to speed things along by clicking on 'Get Info' or just waitin...

Re: Family Guy Fact-Ups Appearing
I'm sensing more and more people are succumbing to 'title-itis'. It was originally an infection brought on by Disney DVDs, but now up to 85% of users of Handbrake are second guessing if title 1 truly is the correct one. As an aside, I did this one the day it came out, and am not having this problem....

Re: no luck with District 9
It could be any number of things (DVDNav vs. DVDRead, etc.). I've gotten to the point I just don't care. There are smarter people on this board than myself that work to correct these problems. It does seem, though, like this complaint has surfaced more recently (3 second encodes containing nothing)....

Re: no luck with District 9
It's title #1. When you open the drop down box for titles in Handbrake, move your mouse back to the top and go all of the way back to #1. Also, while I haven't done this one yet, make sure you've got the subtitles right... This was confirmed in the DVD Player app as well. By the way, for those that ...

Re: AppleTV Issues: Video Format Not Recognized
I believe that Nightstorm reported on this over at the Macrumors.com forums. I have a Brobo, which sequentially wakes up it's four hard drives one at a time, then proceeds to stream the movie to the AppleTV. This was not a problem until AppleTV 3.0. So, yes, it is a hardware/software bug of AppleTV;...

Re: No 64bit VLC. What now smart guys?
Lets just put a bullet in this post and lock it. I have come to the unfortunate conclusion that, with regards to the whole VLC 32 bit versus VLC 64 bit, there are those that get it and those that refuse to.

Re: Is it possible to make a dual HD/SD file for iTunes?
OK then. Here's one additional question. Lets just assume that an individual has, oh, say, 600 or so movies on an external drive and they don't have the cnID tag on them. The tag is added but iTunes doesn't see it because it's added to the existing movie. Besides copying it off of the external drive...

Re: No 64bit VLC. What now smart guys?
If you don't like it, feel free to take the source, develop your own DMCA-violating code, splice the two together, and offer it up yourself. Got awfully quiet all of the sudden. All smart-aleck responses aside, VLC 32 bit works fine with Handbrake, and I've been running the 64 bit build with Handbra...

Rodney's probably just as selfish as the Handbrake devs (has a family, other hobbies, job, doesn't like to stare at a monitor 16 hours a day).
It's hard to find true commitment around here.

Re: MacBook Air Encoding Issues
Just as a side note - Pretty much every encode starts out quite high (fps), then drops back if you watch for a few minutes. It is typically due to the fact that the beginning of a movie contains a matte background and is just the opening credits (meaning not very intensive work). I will forget this ...

Re: No 64bit VLC. What now smart guys?
I think Handbrake is becoming a victim of its own success. The more mature it gets, the more press it seems to get with every release. And the more press it gets (as well as the more Apple iThingies people buy and want to load their own video content on) the more newbs download it. One of the really...

Re: Necessary feedback on the forums (Got a gripe? Keep it here)
Personally, I feel the Devs have really toned it down. JBRJake used to be a highlight of my day. No one could reduce some one to the size of my thumb with two or three carefully crafted sentences. Ah, the good ol' days. And I was serious about the devs toning it down. I counted 5 times one day that ...

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, absolves that frozen tundra to the North for Bryan Adams. If I had Mod priviledges, it would be in the FAQ and you would be required to agree to that in the terms and conditions prior to a newb's first post. And seriously? Mike Myers is what you guys consider absolution?...

Re: DPLII Query
Although it is unknown whether this will be a problem in the future, keep in mind the infamous 2.3 AppleTV update (or was it 2.2) where if a video source did not have both an AAC and AC3 audio track, the video file would not play (or had no sound; cannot remember which). I have no idea what the PS3 ...

I'll second Nightstorm on this one. I've done probably 300+ encodes after activating both for all encodes, and I have found zero problems.
