Re: [svn6185] HEVC encode stops before the end
I confirm that the problem was related to the BD rip, not handbrake. Sorry.

Re: h265 support
OK, so it seems impossible to compare the compression ratio of HEVC and AVC ...!
Anyway, I get files with a quite similar quality and very different sizes. This comparison may not be scientific, but I'm not sure it's absolutely meaningless.

Re: [svn6185] HEVC encode stops before the end
I'm not sure, since this BD has 7 tracks. And svn6190 seems also broken: HandBrake svn6190 (Nightly Build) - 64bit Version OS: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz Ram: 16311 MB, GPU Information: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 - 9.18.13.3523 Screen: 1920...

[Invalid][svn6185] HEVC encode stops before the end
Hi all, I know that HEVC encoder is still experimental, but it seemed to work quite well. Nevertheless, I had an issue, maybe you can fix it : HandBrake svn6185 (Nightly Build) - 64bit Version OS: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz Ram: 16311 M...

Re: h265 support
Hi all! I've done some tests with HEVC encoder, svn6185. Here are the results. I'm using q=21.5, audio DTS-HD MA + AC3 passthrough. AVC preset = very slow, HEVC preset = slow, main profile Under the dome, blu-ray rip : S1E01 : AVC = 2.67 GB - HEVC = 1.53 GB (-43%) S1E02 : AVC = 2.51 GB - HEVC = 1.64...

Re: [svn6169] HEVC : No chapter markers
Most of the time, the gap is small, or in x264's favour. (...) If you don't care about speed, bare in mind you can get much better results out of x264 by using slower settings rather than faster x264 settings Well, the few tests I've done are really impressive. I'm using q=21,5, AVC very slow prese...

Re: [svn6169] HEVC : No chapter markers
Better for what ? Certainly not file size. Quality seems rather good too. Encode is slow, ok, but I don't care.s55 wrote:it's still better to use x264.
I hope VP9 will be added soon too.

[Fixed][svn6169] HEVC : No chapter markers
Hi there, I went back recently to handbrake nightly builds to try HEVC encoding, results are above all expectations. AVC file size is 2.66 GB, HEVC is 1.60 GB ! However, it seems that chapter markers are broken with HEVC, not AVC. I'm using MKV container. Here is an encode log. HandBrake svn6169 (Ni...

[svn5819] opencl scaling bug
Hello, OpenCL scaling is not working, encode stops immediately. There's a workaround : disable openCL =) See log below: HandBrake svn5819 (Nightly Build) - 64bit Version OS: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz Ram: 16327 MB, GPU Information: NVI...

Re: VP9 support
VP8 wasn't convincing, but VP9 will be. Even if compression time is ten times the x264's one, if we can have same quality but a much smaller file, it'll be good, I believe.

[svn4999] movie unplayable
Hello, I've had recently a problem with a DVD encode : the movie is unplayable. Encode log is too large (30 MB, more than 330000 lines) so I've cut it : HandBrake svn4999 2012100101 OS: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz Ram: 16334 MB, Screen: ...

Use strict anamorphic and don't crop left and right, and your video resolution will be 1280x720.

Re: [svn4929] A/V desync
I had different symptoms : with a first movie, I fixed jerky video and A/V desync with variable framerate (ac3 passthru). With another movie, video was normal (I was using variable framerate) but there was still A/V desync (faac AAC). Then I switched off the bob decomb filter, and the movie was ok. ...

[svn4929] A/V desync
Hello,
It seems there is an A/V desync with svn4929.
I'm using mkv container, H.264 video encoding and faac AAC audio coding.
Need more details ?
NB: I have no problem with AC3 passthru

srt subtitles import
Hello,
Since handbrake can't directly encode blu-rays subtitles, I convert them to .srt with some other tools.
The problem is that all style markers (i.e. <i> for italic ...) disappear when the movie is encoded.
So could it be possible to correct this annoying bug ?
