Re: Organizing Video files/collection

All of mine are in iTunes, although not actually organized by it on my Hard Drives(s). So far, iTunes seems to fit the bill quite well.

Re: Who has the largest AppleTV collection? Bring it!

I'll play, although mine are not specifically in ATV format, they are ripped for my iPod(s) and that format will work on the ATV: Movies: 629, 36.8 Days, 456.28Gb TV Shows: 3154 Episodes (59 TV Shows/Series), 801.59Gb ..and growing as I type this. All spread across 4 500Gb SATA II drives (upgrading ...

Re: READ ME / POST HERE if a specific DVD/Movie won't rip

Hey guys. I love the software and use it on a regular basis. Since I won't help by programming (I'll spare you my terrible abilities), I figure I could help with the list of 'broken' movies. The following movies are on your list as unrippable, but I have been able to rip them using Handbrake versio...

Re: How do you all encode tv shows?

Most of my video is ripped for iPod viewing with a few exceptions. I generally use a tweaked iPod Hi-Rez for movies and another tweaked version for TV Shows. I keep my video on 4 internal 500Gb SATA II Hard drives (which will soon need to be upgraded to 1Tb drives), 2 for Movies and 2 for TV Shows. ...

Sounds like it may have been purposely badly mastered to keep you from doing what you want to do. Not that uncommon.

Re: READ ME / POST HERE if a specific DVD/Movie won't rip

HB will only encode half of "Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle" and hardly any of "Friday" using mac osx 10.4.1 and iPod low-rez setting. the real crime is that i bought both these movies and apple has made it so difficult for me to enjoy the many amazing jokes and ridiculou...

Re: Unable to transfer from iTunes to iPod

You're right--the second encode (with a width of 656) was the one I tried to transfer to iTunes. It seems that when I select the iPod High-Rez preset, the width is set to 640. But when I click Picture Settings, the width gets changed to 656 even if I don't change anything in Picture Settings. I cou...

Re: Converting using 2 DVD drives

This really should not be an issue. I have 1 internal and 3 external FW DVD drives and do what you describe all the time with no issues. It sounds like your FW Bus is not responding properly.

No, I never rip the movies to the drive I nearly always rip directly from the DVD.

The funny part is, both of these bozos will likely end up using HB and realize it was their own ineptitude that was the problem. Sadly, neither will have the balls to come back and admit their mistakes.

Hmmm. I fail to see anything particularly "vicious" towards you in this thread. If you think someone pointing out your mistakes is vicious then you have issues.

Re: tagChimp & MetaX just made your life easier!

I think it's important to note (although I'm sure it's not news to baggss) that the title of Seinfeld's pilot isn't "Pilot" it's "The Seinfeld Chronicles" and calling it "Pilot" is rather confusing when there's that season 4 two-parted entitled "The Pilot" so...

Re: tagChimp & MetaX just made your life easier!

You shouldn't have to change the file name. Just enter the tile of the episode into the search field. http://www.tagchimp.com/docs/metax/search-and-tag/ - Tim Well, it works with Movies since the Movie name is the filename. It's specifically TV shows as I listed above that have the issue. If I ente...

Re: hi-rez preset for ipod / resolution...

I'm just [Censored] that I bought To Catch a Thief, thinking he at least had to be right that it was the same rez as on DVD, even if he had the details all wrong. Instead it's this pathetic 640*480 stretched to 852*480 nonsense. So instead of being over 60,000 pixels higher in resolution than a DVD...

Re: tagChimp & MetaX just made your life easier!

Ok, I'm going to ask the obvious question. When I rip TV shows from DVDs, I title the files as follows: 01- Pilot 02- The second and so on. One of the big issues I've had with MetaX and it's auto tag feature is that it would not find the rest of the info unless I changed the file name to something l...

Re: CAN I DO THIS?! IPOD VIDEO

There is no way to get DVD quality on an iPod period. This has nothing to do with HB and everything to do with the iPod. The Classic tops out at 2500K and the Touch goes a bit higher, but neither supports the kind of quality you seek. The above post is the best you can get.

I admit, I only use both one file at a time.

See, I've never had any issues with HBs queue. Then again, I add episodes one at a time (building to upwards of 40 or 50 in the queue) to the queue in HB, but a folder at a time to MetaX.
