Only a quick info. It looks good with svn7109 (2015042101), normally when it is ok at the beginning for a while, it is ok for the whole movie. The log ist after a few minutes of encoding and the borders are cut as desired. [11:46:49] + Crop and Scale (1280:720:24:24:42:42) [11:46:49] + source: 1280 ...
Short feedback for svn7105 (2015042001), the encoding was finished now and everything is fine. I am trying now the movie where the borders have not been cut.
Trying now svn7105 (2015042001) with the dvb-source from above (der-schwarze-blitz), encoding wasn't stopped till now and the borders are cut off as desired.
Again a sample, where cut did not du what it should, but only left and right. See image below. The autmatic values of handbrake say for left and right 42, which I used, for top and botootm to get 16:9 I cut off 24 at top and bottom and scaled it to the orginal size 1280x720. Source and encoded video...
Ok, I will use "code" next time. Yes, I double checked, that I posted the whole log. I will shutdown the pc now and try to encode the file again, let's see what happens. Since Denoise take a long time, my next reply could take a while.
Of course I will test it and I will keep a few sources now for testing, which make problems. I am confused why a reboot can help with some files. I do not notice problems with all the other programs I use, so I don't believe I have bad memory. Yesterday night I encoded 5 files with handbrake at the ...
I think this log is related to this topic, although encoding took 10 minutes, but at the end the filesize was 5,2kb I will wait until tomorrow and use the unstable repo then. I do not have the old dvb-sources anymore, but I am encoding very often, so I will come back, when I have a problem. For now, I got the the first problem with the stable version, see other thread.
I tried it again and it worked perfectly. I encoded 1 minute only. Can you see in the log what is the difference? As mentioned already, I noticed, that after a reboot it could work. First I have to say, that I am very very busy at the moment, but I will try it ASAP of course. Sorry, I don't understand what I should do exaxtly. Do I have to remove the stable version or can I install both somehow? I can use "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/stebbins/handbrake-snapshots/ubuntu tr...
When you are able to do that, you will find that the analog camera noise extends all the way to the bottom edge, Are you talking of the automatic cut off? I entered manual values as you see in the log. So I am not sure, if I misunderstood something. The posted picture is 1280x720, so it shold cut o...
When you got this error, where you using any custom filter options? Sorry, I am not sure what you mean. Generally I use bw-filter if the move is in black / white deblock: I never use it normally and I didn't use it with the mentioned move denoise: I use it always, from very light to medium, with bo...
This is a DVB-recording with black borders on all 4 sides, Autocrop doesn't it perfect, so I changed the values manually in a way, that the crop has a 16:9 aspect ratio with no black border. The result is 1220 * 686. To get a standard size I scale it to 1280 * 720. This works fine nearly 99% At the ...
I had a similar behavior with the development version too. I set a small size to cut the border, it is shown in the queue, but the video shows the black border. In the meantime I encoded a few very problematic dvb-streams, eg they could not be played with vlc or only partially, crashed with kdenlive, a.s.o.
HandBrake 0.10.1 (2015030800) encoded them all as expected, no problems detected. So IMHO there must be a bug with the development versions.

I would ilke to try older snapshots with my Ubuntu box. Is there an archive to download them? There were packages which worked fine for a long time with my pc. At the momemnt I have to decide to use the stable package and have no metatags or to use a snapshot-package with a denoiser.
HandBrake 0.10.1 (2015030800) doesn't write metatags, like title, year, a.s.o although the fields could be filled out. Ist this by design? I remember that I read, that metatags are not available with stable versions, but now I see, that the fields to fill out are there. Edit: In the meantime I could...
I removed the snapshot repo and try now HandBrake 0.10.1 (2015030800) - Linux x86_64. For the moment NLMeans works, which didn't with svn7085 (2015041201). Let me know, if you need some info.
I changed the title of the thread. Now with HandBrake svn7085 (2015041201) and HQDN3D the encoding doesn't start too. If I disable denoise everything seems to be fine.
