I just tried this and it seems to work fine, subtitles, chinese audio and all. Just to make sure I wasn't insane I switched it back and got the same results as before.

Re: Couldn't make 0.9.4 work - rolled back to 0.9.3

I upgraded to 0.9.4 on my MacBook Pro running Leopard 10.5.8, but couldn't make it work. It would hang at the end and never complete the rip. Using Time Capsule, I rolled back to the previous version (which I have been using for months) and continue using it without problems. There seems to be some...

Re: I found a tough one

You should be able to find your encode log in ~/Library/Application Support/Handbrake/EncodeLogs/ Have you tried the usual options? Switched from dvdnav to dvdread and restarted? Tried open (title specific)? I think I've got the region 4 release kicking around at home somewhere... I'll have a look ...

Re: No 64bit VLC. What now smart guys?

All of you who rushed to Handbrake's defense make very valid points. However I think there's one things they can and should do: Put an asterisk beside the 64-bit version letting people know how and where to find the beta or old versions of 64-bit VLC that they'll need to make it work. That would av...

AnyDVD added support for that disk about 2 years ago: 6.1.7.3 2007 09 07 - New (DVD): Added support for a new copy protection to the option to remove "Protection based on unreadable Sectors", e.g. "Curse of the Golden Flower", R2, UK You will note that this is in the Mac section...

I found a tough one

I've been trying to rip the movie "The Curse of the Golden Flower" for a few days now. It's been giving me issues. Here's what I have tried: Handbrake from the DVD directly. If I select Chinese Audio with English subtitles and any iPod compatible preset (Built in or custom), HB crashes cons...

Re: Necessary feedback on the forums (Got a gripe? Keep it here)

Would it be possible to break the forums into different software versions? While searching for solutions, I found alot of v0.93 or lower posts coming up (that weren't obvious 0.93 posts) when I was trying to work in v0.94. I realize you're at the whim of the community posting in the right spot (and...

Re: Apparently iPod 5.5g Supports DVD Resolution Video

Actually, this isn't new. The device itself can do some interesting things but Apple limits that capability with iTunes.

You found a cool trick that allows you to watch better video. I'd stop complaining about it and enjoy.

Happy Holidays everyone? Because if I have to choose between being a politically correct HandBrake developer and keeping the burr mill coffee grinder I got for Chanukkah, I'm going with the grinder =) Be a man and roast your own coffee too. Re: No 64bit VLC. What now smart guys?

And why do you have to put your question or problem so rudely? These guys at Handbrake have been making an awesome app for years now and guess what, IT'S FREE!!!! You're asking about VLC, why not complain to the VLC site instead of Handbrake, or follow the forum rules and do a [Censored] search! Be...

s55 is correct.

That being said, you can run multiple versions on the same machine. I still have 0.7.1, 0.9.1, 0.9.2, 0.9.3 and 0.9.4 on my machine and they don't interfere with each other.

Re: How do you handle TV shows in your library?

I pretty much use MetaX for all the tagging. You can bulk tag the show, artwork etc and then I just use TV.com for the description and date indo. I can tag a 20 episode TV series in about 15 min and let MetaX do the rest. I use to use Lostify but find MetaX's interface more user friendly, especially...

You know perfectly well you meant to be rude. Now I see why you're so sore - you were the author of the preset. Don't worry, your preset is just fine. We all know it's hard to predict the size of one constant quality transcode, but when you try the settings a few times you can get the idea of wheth...
