Thank you all that's what i wanted to know. :D

Re: Is setting h264 Profile/Level on auto give best compress

So in general, lower profile/level results in lower compression efficiency. So for the best possible compression is should always use high Profile and Level 5.2? Or dose HB calculate that the gains are so low, its better just to use a simpler/lower profile/level. And as non of my hardware has probl...

Is setting h264 Profile/Level on auto give best compression?

Will setting h264 Profile and h264 Level to auto result always in the best compression? Like for a file system, the “Allocation unit size” setting has some influence on how efficient you store your files, a smaller value gives you higher efficiency for smaller files, a high value is more efficient f...

Re: Fix the value check box for resizing video resolution

Oh, I immediately assumed he was using the nightly/beta already. My bad, apologies. Ehhh, was it not that assumption are the mother of all ..... LOL But on-topic, i learned the hard way to stay away from nighty's, and also preferable even beta's, as most of the time they its not worth it,...

Re: Fix the value check box for resizing video resolution

Then you did not checkbox the correct options when saving the preset. This is not something that is saved in the presets. If i have a 1080p source, and re-size it to 720p, as in the partial screen dump, the resolution gets reset after a new scan, back to 1920x1088 of the source material, and i beli...

Re: Fix the value check box for resizing video resolution

Dose not work that way, because every time i ad a new video, it jumps back to the original source resolution, and i have to re-enter the desired resolution.

Fix the value check box for resizing video resolution

Could we have a fix the value check box, for when you resizing the video resolution. Now you have to re enter the desired value for ever new video you wane encode. http://tweakers.net/ext/f/eU0E9XZTH1idLWHHLNoVJzDx/full.jpg Preferably a value that resets after every restart of the program. Tnx for a...

Resume cue after reboot

I know that it will be a non issue for most people, but for me a ''resume cue after reboot'' would be real handy. How is HandBreak used I do a lot of encoding but i am not in a hurry, so i do it on my server, on a most of the time under clocked 2600K@1.8GHz to have the best IPW ( Instructions Per Wa...

Out of sync problem during re-coding

Hi i have a out of sync problem during re-coding of a series, ware HandBreak try's to re-sync the file, even do the original has no sync problem at all. And the problem is only with a phew files not all of them. This is what i got: [20:59:17] sync: adding 70 ms of silence to audio 0x1 start 523530, ...

Re: Compression ratio per megapixel

bits per pixel is not the whole story. Of course not, there are many other things that come in to count. That's why we have advanced rate control methods like CRF CRF dose not noting with frame size, and there is no difference if a file is 480p or 1080p if a Avg Bitrate is set of 1500 kbps, that wo...

Compression ratio per megapixel

Could we have in the video tab next to [Avg Bitrate (kbps)], also have a option [Avg Bitrate (kbps) per megapixel]. Benefit would be, that we don't have to recalculate the bitrate every time we have a different size video, as the calculations could easily be implemented in HB it self. Lets say you u...

Re: Better explanation/advise of the encoding parameters.

I for my self find that if i put the parameters on the what i think are the max sane values, i get a lot of extra compression, at the cost of a ''lot'' of extra encoding time. But then i do all my (re)encoding on my server anyway, ware i have a under-clocked 2600K@1,5GHz ware i have about the best I...

Better explanation/advise of the encoding parameters.

Could we have a better explanation/advice of the encoding parameters? The mouse over popup function is very help full, but it could maybe be a little better. http://tweakers.net/ext/f/WYfoI9IH6QeGAMB6YRPXdatj/full.png First the simple one, the timeout is way to short, can it be lengthened, or remove...

Re: Batch convert files

I have to agree, even do i like HB a lot, the missing of a batch option is just a little silly. I got last week all episodes of Stargate-SG1 from Amazon , and ripped the hole series, what is legal in Holland as your aloud to make a home copy, but if ripping 54 DVDs is not tedious enough adding 214 v...
