Apple provide only an iPod-compatible version, so it looks like ass on your tv.

Grr. Hadn't realised it was a communicator, I was getting it confused with another phone. I just love Nokia's naming system. Still, its processor is only marginally faster than mine - 332MHz, apparently. Reports say 500kbps mpeg-4 is ok, but the odd frame gets dropped; so I wouldn't go above this ki...

I don't want to be rude - but I think you should realise how this post sounds: "Hi, I'm too lazy to work this out, one of you do it for me!" I'm sure you didn't mean it like that. What would be sensible is to look up the specs for the device and then put together a set of options based on ...

I've got an N80 myself - don't know how the processors compared, iirc they're the same generation - and certinly for me, it's just not worth bothering. It can't play back even plain mpeg-4 stuff at any kind of acceptable quality.

These phones are really not good at movie playback - and what they can support depends on the exact model. It wouldn't be feasible to have presets for all of them built in.

Anamorphic ignores mod16 at the moment by design. Compression barely suffers - it's not human=perceptible.

I'm not sure of the ins and outs exactly, I just know it's a ceiling that's been hit in development. Maybe there is some way to get around it, and this question needs to be reopened. Either way, the advanced options in HandBrake only relate to x264 - the video codec - so you're not going to find a m...

Hmm. If the titles aren't showing up, that's strange. They're definitely on this dvd right - not a separate disc of extras? ;)

If you're sure they should be there, and HB isn't seeing them, then it's beyond what I can help you with I'm afraid.

The encoder HandBrake uses - faac - seems to top out at ~80 per track. That's 160 for stereo. No idea why. It seems silly. And unfortunately, faac is actually the best cross-platform solution, so it's something HB is stuck with - unless there's a change of heart on OS-specific features, which sadly ...

Well, it may be, it may not be. Remember that just cos it's not on the current zero cell list, doesn't mean it's not got them - just that it hasn't been identified yet. It'd be worth ripping it with the new MacTheRipper to see if that helps.

Surely one of the many different chapters you're likely to have will be the extra features? Do you mean you tried them all, and they all turned out white?

You are presumably either choosing the wrong audio track or the wrong title.

Larger will always be better - more information is stored about the video stream - although there is a point where it's pointless going higher, as it's higher quality than the original DVD... So you're limited by your source material. ~76%, off the top of my head. Something like that anyway. General...

Telecining refers to the NTSC version, but depending on how it was transferred to PAL the video might just be too dodgy by now to get a great rip.

You've not really given a lot of information here - for instance, are you selecting a subtitle track? Do no subtitle tracks work? We don't even know basic stuff like what platform you're on or whether you're using a gui or cli version. We don't know whether you're ripping to .mp4 or .avi or .mkv... ...

The short answer is, your DVD player will not recognise output from HandBrake. It is entirely the wrong application to be using to make copies of DVDs. Look into Toast, Popcorn or DVD2oneX, all used in combination with MacTheRipper, if you're on a Mac. There will be plenty of equivalent Windows prog...

Hmm. Well, either there's a bug, or the main audio is in an unsupported format or something. Either way, you're probably stuck right now, unless ripping with MacTheRipper or similar then encoding from the rip makes any difference to what shows up.

You could always start from the original DVD. This is one of many ways to do that. Come to think of it, ffmpegX should take your movie file as input.

Try again - several times. There are multiple mirrors, and one will be allocated randomly to you. Apparently, the one you've been getting has a bad link (we're onto it now, thanks!), so keep trying till you get a good one.

IIRC, one thing that could cause the old audio drops was if your machine was low-powered - or your processor was being taxed by another app. If you've got other stuff going on, try leaving HB to do its stuff alone. I think, but I might not be right, that these blips are where HB is recovering from w...

Get a cheap second dvd drive that has region-free firmware on the net? I hacked my old PB's DVD drive so I could play some discs only available as region 1 - but even if you can, I wouldn't recommend doing it on a main machine.
