I was reading on the web about the options used in the HB Apple TV preset and read that some think Trellis should only be used with 2-pass and should not be used with no-dct-decimate.

Do the HB devs agree with this?

Unfortunatly, for 2 channel tracks, that is as high as it goes or has ever gone. Bitrate settings above 160 in earlier releases of Handbrake were an illusion. If you set it to 256 you still got 160.

Is the audio on the DVD PCM or AC3?

Are you encoding the audio at 48 khz?

Is this the orginal series?

I used MTR 14d (Main Feature Mode) on the orginal series and I lost the last five minutes. I then used MTR in Full Disc Mode and it worked fine.

Sounds like something to do with your Energy Saver preferences. Turn them all off except Put Display to Sleep.

Instead of distributing copyrighted material perhaps someone owns one of those discs and they can try it for you. Also read the stickies at the top of the support forum for ways to fix your audio issues.
