Re: Streaming to PS3 - HB encodes stream way to high Mbps

First of all, how about using the latest Snapshot, so we're not running in circles here. There is no need to troubleshoot 0.9.2 due to many fixes/enhancements that has been implemented since then. <sheesh>

Re: AppleTV Advanced Settings (Post PsyRDO)

No...psy-trellis isn't on by default. Psy-RDO is on by default. Psy-trellis requires cabac and trellis 1 or 2 and for you to specify psy-rd=1,1 (the first 1 is psy-rdo, it's on by defaul, while the second is psy-trellis, and it's off by default). Just what I needed to know (I guess my previous rema...

Re: AppleTV Advanced Settings (Post PsyRDO)

I've been a little wary of setting the built-in preset to use as high a quality as 62% since the CRF scale was changed. I take it you feel 59% shows a noticeable deterioration in quality? I think I need to do more testing. For HD Sources this may be fine, but for DVD Sources, so far my testing isn'...

Let me start this off by saying that Dynaflash's/Jbrjake's:
62% CRF

Code: Select all

ref=3:mixed-refs=1:bframes=3:weightb=1:direct=auto:no-fast-pskip=1:me=umh:subq=7:analyse=all:b-adapt=2
is currently my new default DVD Source preset.

Of course, this can change in 5...4...3...

Re: Streaming to PS3 - HB encodes stream way to high Mbps

Listen, there are plenty of us that stream HB encoded SD and HD streams to our AppleTVs without issue (as long as we stay within the specs of our devices). You are not trying anything new here. Common denominator would be HB encodes, differicfiator...everything else. You are not going to convince an...

Maybe we should sticky this one. As it is a perfect example why we ask folks to Search before Posting.

Re: Widescreen vs Fullscreen

No, it won't always chose the Widescreen version of the film. There have been plenty of times that the Fullscreen version is "longer", thus HB defaulting to that title. It is best to get into the habit of looking at the preview screen. In using the WinGUI, then you really need to preview s...

OP issue isn't the removal of libdvdcss (OP using 0.9.2)...it's the fact that he/she decided not to read the documentation provided before posting.

How about ripping the DVD first to get rid of the Copyright Protection and feed that to HB. Until that is done, troubleshooting this is a waste of time.
