Re: hopes of success dashed

You probably should spend some time on the Visual Hub forums, because you're wrong about everything except lack of subtitle suppo...

If you wish to use your receiver's Toslink jack and surround sound you'll need to feed it a stream it knows what to do with --- AC-3 or DTS as it sits on the DVD. I suppose this means an .avi file with AC-3 passthrough for example, played back via VLC. Or forget converting altogether and just playba...

Re: stuttering video
Forcing HB to use 29.97fps instead of "Same as source" fixed this problem for each video that had the stutter problem. That would be because I think it was rhester who clarified that "same as source" is simply mislabled. That setting is actually always 23.97fps (i.e. film) --- H...

Re: MTR3 vs. MTR and DVD0nex
It's been a long time, but I think the idea with DVD2OneX is to uncheck any cells that are 0MB. Excluding them=bypassing them.Anders wrote: having tried mtr 2.6.6 and dvdonex, i didn't know what to do with them exactly in order to bypass the zero cell.

I smell trouble right there. I get the feeling you're under the impression that just giving a file a different filename extension is enough to make it acceptable to whatever app you feed it to.AustinBDay wrote: ... I rename the files .mp4 ...

Re: Noob question about zero cells
... what is a zero cell ... DVDs are comprised of "cells". Each one has data in it, except when it doesn't (i.e., an "empty" cell, or one that's 0MB in size essentially.) Empty cells are decoys, plain and simple --- inserted to fool computer DVD rippers to create an unusable, or...

it does seem to be a zero-cell dvd - although i do not believe it. Faith isn't necessary. The latest MacTheRipper, DVD2OneX or even YadeX should all be able to report with conviction if the title has 0MB cells. to add - instead of giving me some "look next time" answer you could have just...

If you want the same file to play on both iPod and in Quicktime, do not choose anamorphic. The fact that you can't play an anamorphic file for both isn't a bug in Handbrake, but rather a limitation of the iPod. Furthermore, when Anamorphic is checked, the height and width fields aren't editable. And...

If Mediafork works but the new Handbrake 8.5b1 does not, I can't speak to that. If Mediafork also now has trouble with your disks ... invest in an external FireWire case and get another DVD burner. True, however copying the file that holds them is even easier, especially if you have multiple presets to share or wish to reduce typos.

obvious, HB may or may not ever have this feature but in the meantime look for it in your Application Support folder, inside your username's Library.
