110C is getting dangerously near the failure point of the hardware. It's not something leopard can cause.

It could be something as simple as HandBrake is using more CPU time under leopard which is bringing out this problem.

This is 1 of 3 things. 1. under-spec'd PC. (Lack of ram may cause this) 2. Problem with copy protection and/or reading the source. Ripping it to an ISO image first using anydvd or dvd decryptor may help. 3. Some other software on your PC is interfering with HandBrake. Maybe some security package? (f...

Cjshoop9 - there are some pre-release development builds at the top of this forum. Can you give those a shot. It uses verbose logging by default on the scan stage. It may help point out whats wrong. It shouldn't be failing like this. IT sounds like the sources are corrupted. you don't have dvd43 or ...

X264 Panel for the Windows GUI

Link Removed No longer available You'll find Demo x264 Panel.exe. Simply run to launch the demo application. Hopefully after some extensive testing I can get this added to the WinGUI. It should work the similar to the MacGUI. Please Note: This code may be quite buggy. I'm expecting there will be a ...

Handbrake doesn't add cue markers to MKV files so the player has to seek to the point in the video. (Cue markers are not required by the mkv specification)

it would have to seek through the movie part before it. This is normal. Handbrake doesn't add cue markers to mkv files. (It's not required by the mkv specification) This is why VLC seems to seek to the point you selected. This is something that may/may not be added in the future. I don't know. Also...

The Windows port does not support copy protected discs where as the mac version has a very limited support for them. Hence why the difference.

Go read the Windows GUI guide. It's on the wiki.

mkv files are not the same as mp4 or m4v.

You can't rename mkv to mp4 or m4v.

The error message indicates the encode never finished. Either it crashed or you never let it finished.

mkv != m4v

m4v = mp4. There is no difference. Quicktime needs the extension to be m4v for chapter makers to work. The file itself is identical though.

They work like PC's You put a new bit of software on, you can take it off again. It won't affect anything else.

Best if you look for a forum that covers Windows Mobile as that's where you'll get the best advice.

Mpeg 4 + Mp3 would be the only option that would work with a win mobile device. Thats assuming it supports vanilla mpeg4. You may need to find an alternative media player for the device. Windows Media player is pretty useless

Firstly, once a source has been selected, if browse is clicked again, but the file chooser is closed by clicking cancel, or clicking the X, it goes through the "Reading DVD" stage again, even though the source hasn't changed. I don't know if this is a limitation in handbrake, but I'd expe...

HandBrake has many uses outside the DVD world ;)

Even so, there is a lot of content out there that's not owned by one of these big studio's so HandBrake won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
