Re: NVENC Hardware Encoding for H264 and H265
Some info on the NVENC encoder : https://developer.nvidia.com/sites/default/files/akamai/cuda/files/CUDADownloads/NVENC_AppNote.pdf Introduction NVIDIA's latest generation of GPUs based on the Kepler architecture, contain a hardware-based H.264 video encoder (henceforth referred to as NVENC). This d...

Re: NVENC Hardware Encoding for H264 and H265
You are right musicvid, x264vfw is an external codec. It's a pity that Sony Vegas doesn't support natively x264 the best H264 codec. MainConcept is meh, except for its GPU encoders that can be interesting at high bitrates (at low bitrates, the quality is horrible). I hope that Handbrake will solve a...

Re: NVENC Hardware Encoding for H264 and H265
Another nice thing about NVENC is that the hardware is designed to actually run two encoding jobs simultaneously at near full speed, something I've tested and seen by running two instances of NVEncC simultaneously. If the right software comes along it'll be an absolute monster at batch encoding lar...

NVENC Hardware Encoding for H264 and H265
Hello, NVENC support would be great. It's a specific integrated circuit in Nvidia's GeForce graphic cards since 2012 (GeForce 600 and above) that is dedicated to H264 video encoding. The 3rd generation even supports HEVC/H265 encoding  Given the popularity of Nvidia's graphic cards, it would ...

How to know how long the encoding took ?
Hello,
Once the encoding has finished, where can I find how long it took ? It doesn't seem to be mentionned anywhere in th encoding logs.
It's a VERY important information for benchmarks.
Thanks !

Re: Unable to record to root directory
Thanks for your reply. It's a hard drive with write and read permissions.
The error actually occurs on any of my hard drives.
There's no problem with VLC when recording screenshots to the root. But Handbrake cannot.
Thanks for your help

Re: DXVA Hardware Acceleration with Handbrake : Are you getting good results ?
Hi s55
I am asking if you are getting good results with DXVA Acceleration on.
It's supposed to be experimental but it seems to work perfectly for me.
So I am asking for feedback so I don't get bad surprises in the future.
Thanks in advance.

Custom presets once again erased with the new Handbrake :-(
Hello, I love your software but wouldn't it be possible to update our presets instead of erasing them everytime we update Handbrake ? I lost 10 custom presets that I will have to recreate one by one (I don't even remember how exactly I finetuned them) :( It may seem like a detail for you but some pe...

Why not do as mduell says and post your activity log when using Intel QSV ? It might be a bug.

With Handbrake 0.10, how to play a sound when encoding is done ?
Hello,
Growl support in Handbrake 0.9 was awesome and worked perfectly for me, unfortunately they have removed it because of "stability" issues.
Now is there a way to play a sound when the encoding is done ?
Thanks

Re: Custom Presets deleted without warning when upgrading to 0.10 !
If I knew, I would've written down on a sheet of paper my old configuration (Trellis, ref-frames, b-frames, etc.) because most of these options are still there in the new HandBrake.
Now I have to redo everything from scratch
