In the preferences there is a list of token that can be used for the output file name, "preset" should be already available even in 1.6.1.

--preset-import-file only imports the preset in the presets list, then you have to select it to.

AVI has been removed many years ago, because it's an old container format that doesn't support any of the modern features used these days. Unless you have a player that supports only AVI, it would be better to avoid it.

Your avidemux files was encoded with x265, the activity log from HandBrake above uses x264. Two completely different encoders for two different video formats.

There is a bug that prevents opening files with odd sizes in 1.6.1, your video is 1215x2160. Try a snapshot build. Or make sure to use even width and height.

That depends on how you are launching HandBrake from your Electron app, there are way to ask the system to prefer one architecture or another. Anyway, no, we have no plan to provide separate files, but you can always build them yourself.

The next version will allow to recursively open folders and set the same destination as source. But there is still no way to automatically load .srt files. So you will have to script the cli version.

The quality scale changed, so you will have to use a different value to get a similar result as before.

x264 writes all the encoder settings in the file, you can use mediainfo to check exactly which settings were used.

VideoToolbox exposes a "quality" settings, but then there are a lot of internal options to whom the "quality" value will be translated to. Probably they tweaked something. But all that's is internal to the operating system, so your guess is as good as mine.

Try the flatpak version.

Where did you get it? It might be a broken version shipped by someone else. I don't think anyone in developers team tried to run it on a Chromebook.

However, I don't know how QSV works on Linux with the snapshots.

There is a work in progress on https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake/pull/5036 , but no one is working on it at the moment, if someone wants to finish it.
