Re: Hard Subtitles font too large and shifted to right side
What is strange is that the source appears to be a Bluray, but it's at 720p, rather than 1080p. Was it previously compressed by something else to a smaller size? If so, the subtitles probably weren't scaled at the same time, so when handbrake overlays them, they're not the right size. In other threa...

Re: Handbrake stops 2.5 minutes into movie
At the very least, ripping in MakeMKV will give you better diagnostics of why the rip failed. handbrake only knows that it asked for the next sector and the request failed, so it treated it as the end of file.

Re: Audio settings don't save in presets
Those are MakeMKV logs that say there is an issue with the disk, and your drive can't read parts of it. MakeMKV isn't supported here, that's over at makemkv.com . We need the handbrake logs, or better yet, export the preset you've saved, and post the resulting .plist file, so we can see what's been ...

Re: Slow down playback
There really isn't anything in handbrake that will "slow video down". You can change the frames per second, but one second of video is still going to be one second of video... just with more or fewer frames.

Re: Adding Movies in bulk
In the audio menu, there is a button to "switch to defaults". There you can define rules for handbrake to use when selecting audio. The same can be done for subtitles. To be able to use this for "add all to queue", you must save it to a custom preset, and make that preset the cur...

Re: Transcoded Title Too Short
Another possibility is that the DVD uses "seemless branching" to patch the recap in. I have several DVDs where there is only one copy of the title and credits chapters, and the video jumps from opening scene to titles, back to the main VOB, then credits, then back to the "next time&qu...

Rule of thumb - The more "noise" in the source, the bigger the result will be. What is "noise"? Things like static or grain, whether from a poor transfer or "used for effect"; Backgrounds with lots of detail that move; Fast-paced action where large portions of the image...

Re: gap of chapter mark , and I can't download
Announcement that handbrake moved away from svn to git: https://forum.handbrake.fr/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=33391 There has been ambiguity in the location of chapter marks on a lot of sources going back years. I have a lot of titles that I've had to split on chapters, and some are consistently a hal...

Re: Web Optimized Output Setting Keeps Unchecking Itself
Select the preset. Does the web optimized box get checked? I have seen instances in the past where saving changes to a preset doesn't work unless you have a video loaded. I know the system won't let you create a new preset without loading something. I just had to rebuild my default preset after the ...

Re: No way to select multiple files to convert?
Well, that's a bit harder to deal with - you should not be using the same base name for multiple formats in the source directory. Even if you were manually inserting files into the queue, there would be a conflict when you added the second file with the same base name. The difference is that the man...

Re: No way to select multiple files to convert?
{source} will use the original file name (less the extension) as the basis for the output file. Processing the file "Blade Dance HD11.mkv" will output either "Blade Dance HD11.mkv" or "Blade Dance HD11.m4v" (depending upon the output file type) in the destination direct...

At the very least, your "Format" should contain "{source}" when trying to queue multiple files at once.

Re: No Valid Source Found
MakeMKV being fast or slow depends a lot on the drive. If the drive being used has "riplock" firmware, MakeMKV won't rip faster than about 2x speed, and handbrake can often keep up with that. That makes MakeMKV a slower process... in fact, any ripper that hasn't found a way around riplocke...

Re: Multi-tasking
You might also want to consider changing your work flow... Tools like MakeMKV will let you rip disks very quickly, using multiple drives, and the files they generate can then be processed by handbrake at whatever speed it can. I often rip 10 to 20 disks in less than an hour (two BD drives, 3 if I wa...

Re: handbrake cuts off prematurely before end of video
A search for "AVI" would have come up with information about how the standard for AVI limits their size, and the work-arounds to go beyond 2GB are non-standard, and do not always decode beyond 2GB. You may have better luck with one of the nightly build versions, or you can convert your AVI...

Re: No Valid Source Found
You are probably relying on a 3rd-party add on to add DVD decryption to your system, and the update to 10.11 OS X blew it away. Use of a tool intended for dealing with encrypted sources is recommended, then feed the results to handbrake. MakeMKV is one of the options available for OS X, but not the ...

Nightly builds have things that are NOT in the release version. The recent update to the release version was to fix known bugs in the release version, not to add features that came out afterward.
