Re: Handbrake contains virus?

It's a false positive. It's not uncommon to see after a new release when AV vendors have not seen the file before.

FYI, Checksums and GPG signatures are available for all downloads as well which you can use to verify they are authentic. https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake/wiki

Re: Handbrake not launching

I assume your getting the log from disk manually here?

Given that your system doesn't have an Nvidia GPU, but the API is detecting NVEnc support, I'd say you've got a Nvidia Driver installed in the background. Try removing that. Might need to use the DDU tool for it.

Re: Intel Deep Link, Hyper Encode NOT Working in HandBrake

We would need to see an encode log.

HyperEncode only activates in scenarios where it's beneficial. You'll also need to make sure it's turned in in preferences -> Video.

There isn't an AV1 Preset for NVEnc. Nothing stopping you creating your own.

I would go back to 1.6.1 from the old downloads page for now. You can just install over and it should restore the old version.

High Definition source files have more information so you don't need as high a quality setting to achieve good results.

Re: Intel qsv not detected on Ivy Bridge (7th Gen) with 1.6.1

No. I mean your entire CPU is 3rd generation. CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3540M CPU @ 3.00GHz < This is 3rd generation CPU. Not 7th Generation. Hence the 3XXX number. Support was dropped as the CPU is no longer supported by Intel and no longer reciving driver updates to allow it to continue working wi...

The selected preset is shown just below the title dropdown on the left hand side.

You cannot keep the preset pane permanently open.

That information is not correct. AVI is not supported.

Per the site, only MKV, MP4 and WebM containers are supported. https://handbrake.fr/features.php

Tools Menu -> Preferences -> Minimise to System Tray

Do you have this turned on? If you do, it will disappear from the task tray and go into the system tray.

Looks like your presets file got corrupted or wasn't reading correctly. If it's clear, it's clera and you should be good.

Your output is constant. MediaInfo is mis-reporting it due to the 90khz clock used.
There is nothing wrong with your file.

HandBrake doesn't use ffmpeg so doesn't generate said commands. You need to tell it to use the Ultrafast preset for SVT since that's what your using in HandBrake. I don't know the arguments for that off the top of my head.

Different settings, or a problem with ffmpeg (or maybe it's built with an older version).

Speed can vary dramatically depending on settings used.

There is no magic in HandBrake.

SVT doesn't use the GPU at all so that's not what's driving it. It's maybe UI updates or something causing it to appear like load but no encoding is happening on your GPU. It simply doesn't support AV1

SVT-AV1 is not QuickSync. It's a software encoder only.

Re: need to run maximum nvenc encoding in parallel

Running more isn't faster. The Nvidia consumer cards only have 1 or 2 engines depending on which card you have. If an engine is fully utilised, running more encodes on it is of no benefit. You simply have more encodes, running far slower. Up to a hard limit of 5, set by Nvidia. HandBrake will limit ...
