Using or converting CC titles
I often capture MGEG TS streams which I edit with Videoredo. The original broadcast has titles of Teletex type. Once edited in VRD I play the file with VLC & I can see the titles & even turn them on/off. Your wiki help page doesn't mention this type of titles. Can they be used in Passthrough...

Questions about aspect ratio
I know that its generally not the done thing but I have been asked to create an MKV file from a PAL file that was 4x3 but is required to be in 16x9. I pointed out that most players can stretch the video at time of playback. I wondered if anyone has created a chart which suggests just what settings o...

Do black bars contribure to file size
Most people seem to watch TV these days on a 16x9 screen. If the original ripped file was either wider or narrower that this I will see black bars either at top or side of video. Assuming the files had same bit rate to start with. Do the black bars contribute to the total file size & if so shoul...

Combine files & have Chapters & subtitles?
I have used Handbrake to create MKV files that includes both chapter markers & subtitles which I can turn on/off. I would like to create a longer file that is made up of 2 or more videos & still retain the same features. I also have VideoReDo which can combine 2 files into one from either MP...

Some options not saved as default
I don't know if I missed something or not but not all options appear to be saved as my default. I wish to save to MKV. I open a MPEG2 video file & I see that MKV appears to be selected as the type of container. But when I click on destination for output files & see that MKV isn't automatical...

Re: Is Handbrake able to encode non commercial disks directl
I tried it again on a different disk & this time it worked. I don't know what the difference was unless the first time I just navigated to the Video-TS folder & the seconds time I just opened it from the disks name that appears at the bottom of the Source column. I see that I can also do the...

Is Handbrake able to encode non commercial disks directly?
I know that Handbrake doesn't decrypt commercial disks. So when my wife asked if she could get a copy of some of our old family DVD's so that she could have them on her tablet I decided it might me best to convert them to MKV or MP4. I knew that these wouldn't have encryption on them. So I tried to ...

Include DVB Teletext files
I'm starting to receive broadcast programs which VideoReDo tell me contain DVB Teletext, Is there any way to use these in Handbrake? I know that VideoReDo can put them into an MKV file which VLC can display or not as you wish, but your encoder is better.
Thanks in advance

I'm especially pleased with the latest version of Handbrake especially since I can now make an MKV file that allows me to turn on/off subtitles. I have been able to do this both on the PC & my media player connected to the TV. My wife now wants to know if there is any known app for an android de...

Re: Correct 2nd track not on list
I have looked at every tag in the program for saving as a text option & can't see any text option. This leave open only 2 other ways that I know. Either I just re type what I see in Medioinfo or if the OCR setting in my printer works (I have never tried it) then that might work.

Re: Correct 2nd track not on list
I can do a screen grab of InfoMedio but I can only save it as either Jpeg or PNG. I suspect that all you want is plain text but how do I do this unless there is a way of attaching the screen grab to this thread that I can't see.

Correct 2nd track not on list
I have been using version 9.9 to open a file created by Makemkv, Media info tells me that my file has both a 6 channel audio & 2 channel audio track as well as 3 subtitles tracks. I was trying to make a MKV file that is much smaller than the originals 23GB size. I opted for 5.1 channel output as...

Re: Hard and Soft Subtitles Guide
I have a video file that was recorded off the TV. Mediainfo tells me that the file in addition to having a video & audio streams I have an additional file listed as First Text Stream - English.Teletex subtitle. Is there any way to use this file & get it into by MKV file?
Thanks in advance

Questions about 9.9
Congratulation about the new features in version 9.9. I love having the subtitles being able to be included in the MKV file so that I can turn them on/off. I have tried updating my presets & find that regarding audio my input appears to be retained. That being 5.1 for the main track & direct...

Some preset preferences aren't saved
I have look but I can't see any way to save all of presets. I can get it to save format, bit rate, 2 passes etc.
What doesn't appear to be saved are my choices re burning in subtitles, or the advanced audio settings. Is this possible & how is this done?
Thanks in advance
