Re: How-To: Automate DVD & Blu-Ray (Backup, Encoding & Tagging)

I have a mac mini and set the batch rip to auto eject on completion. This morning I popped in a DVD and left for work and when I got home it'd ripped the DVD to the HDD about 12 times. It seems that the mini at least sucks the disc back in after some time has passed without the disc being removed. ...

I'm looking for a way to filter out the fullscreen track, or to have the secondary tracks named with an index of some sort. Hi th3_m45t3r, There isn't any way to do filter these in the action no...

Would you be willing to share some of your settings for DVDs for different purposes etc? Hi splodgecat, My settings are pretty basic. I don't really put this stuff on my iPhone or iPod any more, so the only two devices I need to encode for are the Apple TV and Mac Mini. For DVDs, I use a modified A...

Hi Calomile, Yesterday someone wrote me regarding a similar issue… where they didn't have read/write access to their ~/Library/Automator folder. Re: How-To: Automate DVD Backup w/ FairMount & HandBrake

I'm sorry you've had trouble. I've heard others having issues with the logs on certain discs. Perhaps if there are a lot of errors or an encode is particulary verbose in it's output. In any case, I mentioned in a previous post that this tutorial is due for a serious update. A lot of the features you...

I just tried them in VLC as well. I guess VLC doesn't do WVC1 "No suitable decoder module". I tried the h.264 and it played fine in VLC, but could not scrub very well as it couldn't buffer fast enough ... just paused until it caught up. I didn't see any artifacts or gray frames as I tried ...

Re: HB not "auto-cropping" from makemkv file

Have you tried playing these file with an ffmpeg based player like ffplay, mplayer, or vlc. Yes ... actually I've been using the makeMKV file for Plex after I use it to encode an Apple TV version. They have all worked fine, except for some audio sync issues which thankfully Plex allows you to adjus...
