I know there are no logs, but could one of the developers please explain why this is, or know why this is?

Re: Dolby Digital from HandBrake file on Mac Mini
I did read somewhere on the Net that now you have installed this that you have to enable DD passthorugh. Again do a Google search, it is out there as I thought about doing this also. Sorry I can't remember the site. If you figure this out, please post your results.

Re: Subtitles for AppleTV
I found it a lot easier and quicker to find the subtitle tracks online. There are loads of sites that have them already done to drop into Subler. Just make sure you get the correct version, may take a few tries, so just hit save not optimize and test in itunes. Alter the file that already in the itu...

As per my previous post, my Denon AVR-5800 receiver has no delay set to its optical timing and exhibits no issues with other my other devices (DirecTV HD DVR, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Denon universal DVD player) all connected identically via HDMI (for video) directly to the tv and optical (for audi...

Re: Apple TV AC3 Audio Out Of Sync
You could always check that your Channel Delay settings are correct. If this is not correct, it could give you the sense that the audio is not in sync.fallapart13 wrote:Makes sense. So what other troubleshooting can I perform on my ATV#1 which is connected to the 5.1 receiver?

Re: Apple TV AC3 Audio Out Of Sync
How about some of you providing titles that you have problems with, include the information of how they were encoded etc, and your set up's. Then maybe others here will have those titles too, and we can try and confirm if we have the same problems. Why not also provide a time point to check, so at l...

Large File Size? SVN2289
Hi, I just converted Hellboy Blu-ray, and the file size seems to be a bit large at 4.47gb compared to other encodes of simular size I have done. Even Hellboy 2 comes out at only 3.5gb. I noticed some warning in the log file, and I did scan some other files while this was encoding. Could someone look...

Go into picture settings, check custom and set all crops to 0. You will see it changing on the preview.

Re: Limit the Video Bitrate for AppleTV
When you use the same settings with WALL-E the result file was a little more than 2,5GB. Just to help you out a little. My version of Wall-E converted from Blu-Ray, using the AppleTV preset set at 57%, and the video size boosted to 1280x???? (ends us at 1264x528) for AppleTV HD. My file size is 1.8...

Re: Handbrake and AVCHD, Canon Vixia HG20 Camcorder
What file format are you encoding to, and also can you then edit these in iMovie 09 OK? I believe I encoded to a rather generic x264-encoded MP4 with AAC audio (mixdown from the AC3 2/0 from the camera). I have not attempted to import into iMovie. I would be surprised if there was any issue, though...

Re: Advanced Bluray/HDDVD Workflow & Features Discussion
I've been playing with CQ vs image size. I tried 3 versions as listed below. 1. AppleTV preset (let HB select image size) @ 57%, detelecine, decomb, no chapters 2. AppleTV preset (let HB select image size) @ 59%, detelecine, decomb, no chapters 3. AppleTV preset (changing Horizontal to 1280 to get 7...

Re: DVD -> H.264 CQ62%, very large file results
It depends what you are playing the files back on to give an acurate answer.
I would recommend using the AppleTV preset and setting that at 62%, this gives a great image. Not quite the same as DVD, but pretty close. At a distance, how much differance can you really see in the end?

Re: DRC
I know that DTS tracks containing DRC are out there, but are few and far between. They also need a compatible amplifier that will read DRC in DTS streams. I guess DTS track conversions will just pass through the HB DRC.

Re: DRC
Don't know if this is wrong or not, but.. I just checked it out and its defaulting to 1 (3 o'clock). I can change it to 0 (12 o'clock) manually. I updated the presets to check, and it still defaults to 1. Uh...I'm talking about libhb. That's just because you're using an 0.9.3 preset that sets a DRC...

Not for night settings, just the usual DRC listening room profile, the bitstream dynamic range compression. The number we either: - Strip if the specified DRC is 0 - Pass through if the specified DRC is 1 or - Alter as explained above if the specified DRC is greater than 1. So, if you have a conver...

Re: DRC
The change has been to default to not applying DRC instead of defaulting to applying default DRC. Now you have to actually specify 1 for the DRC to get default DRC, and greater than 1 to get it further compressed. Don't know if this is wrong or not, but.. I just checked it out and its defaulting to...

Re: Blu-Ray or DVD Universal Preset
Adding the HD atom with the check box, should my files now show up with the HD symbol next to them on the ATV?
I have a version of Stargate that I created from Blu-ray and used the AppleTV preset as you recommend, but the HD symbol doesn't show up?
