Re: Advanced Bluray/HDDVD Workflow & Features Discussion

I've been using Clown_BD for the initial eac3to and tsmuxer portions to create a single m2ts out of the ripped BR. Then using HB to convert that m2ts to mkv (h.264/AC3). Pretty straight forward process but it takes a fair amount of time for the rip+clown_bd (extract/mux)+HB (encode). I've used that...

Thats for the recommendation, but it didn't work. No worries I have the Blu-ray disc anyway.

SVN2406: 1080i 60fps file 'No Title Found'

I have an .m2ts file that is 1080i 60fps, HB SVN2406 can't find title. Any recommendations? Re: Increase sound volume

Did you try increasing the sound in iTunes by using get info? Under options there is a volume adjustment and you can go up to +100% volume. It also changes the volume on synced devices (at least it does on my iPod, should be the same for iPhones). You should be careful of this as you can start to d...

Re: Increase sound volume

You may just need to get a better set of headphones. I live in NYC and most the time have the volume close to max, and I own a set of heavely closed Sennheisers. If your using the ones that came with the iPhone you are at a loss from the start!

Re: Problem with "weird" subtitles

Sounds to me like you need to disable auto crop in the picture settings, and set all factors to zero.

If the subtitles are in the orginal picture but under the image, you will loose them with auto crop on.

Re: Problems with converting M2TS to MP4/M4V

Hi, I've been searching the forums and the entire web in order to find a solution to the following problem, but so far - unsuccessfully. Using HandBrake, I'm trying to convert an M2TS video file (~29GB in size) to MP4/M4V (Large File option selected using the Apple TV preset). HandBrake does seem t...

Re: Miracle at St Anna Subtitles

Has anyone been able to get Miracle at St Anna encoded with the forced subtitles only? I tried setting it to Auto Select and Forced subtitles only with the AppleTV preset but I still am not getting the german audio to show english subtitles. There is no forced subtitles, you just have to pick the c...

Re: mp4 to ATV conversion Audio Problem SVN2354

I downloaded the test clips from the Steve's Digicams' review of this camera. I compared the 24fps HB output with the native 30fps. It's jumpier but that's what down converting the frame rate looks like. Going from 30 to 24 means dropping 20% of the frames - 1 frame out of every 5. The current HB d...

Sorry, FFmpeg truck?

Do you mean I should select this in the encoding options?

If you could let me know, I'd be glad to try.

Re: mp4 to ATV conversion Audio Problem SVN2534

My other question is, is there a good way of converting from 30fps, to 24fps to keep 720p with out it looking jumpy? Use the current head (svn2368 or later) and specify 24fps in the framerate pulldown on the video settings tab. I compiled the latest version as of 11 o'clock last night. I have tried...

I've got the exact same problem converting MOVies from my Panasonic digital camera. Icebiker, great job describing the problem: "sound is completely garbled to noise that stutters on and off" Are there some alternate settings/formats that will work? I'm trying to get the movies to play on my iPhone...

mp4 to ATV conversion Audio Problem SVN2354

Hey all, I just received my new Sanyo VPC-CG10 video camera. It films 720p at 30fps into a .mp4 file. These are great to drag and drop into iMovie etc. If I convert the file a RAW file from the camera to run on an AppleTV via Quicktime Pro or via iMovie (direct send to iTunes) I get Audio fine. If I...

Re: Best audio for the long run?

Possibly, I always use ClownBD as it makes life so easy with all the new Disney Blu-ray being multiply titles. Sin City has about 24, all have to be joined up!! At least with ClownBD I can push go and walk away. I have yet to try sending a TrueHD file into HB. Can this be done? I herd that HB might ...

Re: Best audio for the long run?

Answering the questions from your initial post. AAC isn't any better or worse, although if you're interested in quality and don't mind the marginal increase in filesize I'd go with AC3 passthrough. The reason the audio is quieter with AAC is that the original AC3 track uses DRC hinting , try bumpin...

Re: Advanced Bluray/HDDVD Workflow & Features Discussion

Guys, The work you have all done here is great, and has been a saver on time and effort. I do have a couple of questions which I hope you can shed some light on as I am new to the whole DVD/HDDVD RIP/Handbrake process. I am halfway through ripping my dvd's via Handbrake for ATV, just using the stan...

Re: m2ts encoding stops mid-way

Let me correct one minor statement I made above. It wasn't Madagascar, it was Madagascar 2 that I seem to have issues with. In the process of ripping/trying again with the latest AnyDVD utility in the off-chance that makes a difference (since I've been encoding just fine other sources with that sam...

Re: fix for the dialogue volume issue

I might be wrong about this (Dolby's consumer level marketing information makes it nearly impossible to tell) but my loose understanding is that receivers that have midnight modes are applying *extra* DRC and dialog normalization on top of the regular DRC listening profile hinted in the stream, and...

Re: fix for the dialogue volume issue

Uh no I did not tell you it was like the Night settings. It's the normal DRC profile. We once spoke about the DRC setting in HB, and its relation to the Compression settings on a home hi-fi amplifier. What I say above is what I got out of the conversation, sorry if I misunderstood. But, isn't the D...

Re: Dolby Digital from HandBrake file on Mac Mini

AC3 in M4V passes through to optical fine in QuickTime Pro with Perian. All you have to do is configure your system and Perian properly for AC3, then enable the proper audio track at playback time in QuickTime and re-order the channel layout to Left-Right-Center-LFE-LeftSurround-RightSurround to wo...
