Instructed where? When doing this with v0.10, you do NOT rename the DLL.

Re: Handbrake cannot encode movie file to small size

I think what he's trying to tell you is that handbrake found an incredibly large number of errors in the source file. The audio track had 7125 places where it couldn't be decoded, and handbrake had to compensate; there were also over 6200 places where the audio was not in sync with the video. Lookin...

If you need to use the same settings repeatedly, your best bet is to save them as a new profile, and use that profile.

Re: how to convert mkv to mpeg-1 .mpg?

Encode a video using x264 into an MP4 file. Call it "Video.mp4". Make a copy with the name "Video.m4v", and another with the name "Video.mpg". Take all three to various playback devices. Be amazed how many of them will refuse to play at least one of the files, because it is "incompatible", even thou...

Re: No Valid Source Found

There are instructions around here for how to download the necessary library to make Handbrake capable of decoding MOST DVDs, or get a specialized tool like MakeMKV (makemkv.com) that makes keeping up with the copy protection war a priority.

Re: Need suggestions: Massive encoding job pending

If you want multiple VIDEO tracks, you need a different tool than Handbrake. Your best bet would probably be to use the tools available under FreeBSD to construct shell scripts or batch files (depending upon your target for running Handbrake), reading in the information on each source and applying r...

Re: 16x9 to 4x3 Letterbox

Check your TV's settings. There may be a menu selection to turn off zooming and stretching for non-16x9 content.

Otherwise, you might want to consider a media player that does that in a more intelligent manner than your TV.

Re: Help ! My video gets bigger instead of smaller when i use Handbreak !

Someone MIGHT be able to help if SOMEONE provided activity logs so that what settings are being used could be determined.

Right now, your request is equivalent to, "Something was wrong with my trip to work. Can someone help?"

Re: subtitles / short foreign language segments

Activity log would show what is happening.... But your command line looks like you're not telling handbrake to do include the subtitle... the syntax doesn't look right. Shouldn't it be more like:
--subtitle-forced=1 --subtitle-burn=1

Re: HB CLI 0.10.0: Bug with Forced Subs

When using MakeMKV to do the rip, different angles are saved to different files, so you'd have to select the file that has the correct angle, along with the correct audio track(s) when you go to encode them with Handbrake.

Re: Upload files in batches

If you have rules set for automatic file naming, "Add all" should work. But it will give errors for duplicate file names if there are no rules.

https://handbrake.fr/downloads2.php gets you to the command line version, which can be controlled by shell scripts.

As for the scripting, you have to do that yourself (I just write batch files on Windows), but there ARE some scripts available in the section dedicated to CLI support.

Re: What are the best settings for bluray to mkv (keep quality but reduce size)?

You will get some reduction in size just by switching to x264 instead of qsv_264 for the encoder.... My experience was 10% or more. QSV is certainly fast, but it isn't for those looking for minimum size.

Re: Schedule for encoding files?

If WatchFolder can be told to terminate when it finishes processing the folder, you COULD use it as a Scheduled Task, and run it once per day. Alternatively, is there a way to tell the program for the tuner to move the file into the watched folder when it finishes recording it, rather than recording...

Re: Batch Files -> Add To Queue -> Add All Problems

You have to have some form of file naming template set up for "add all" to work, otherwise, you will get warnings about duplicate output file names.

The red box just above the messages here explains how to get the logs. The Graphic User Interface normally hangs onto logs for 30 days, so it should be pretty easy to get them. The important thing to remember with Microsoft is that, even when they SAY they support something like MKV files, that supp...

Re: VOB subtitles from DVD rip not showing in Windows 8.1 Video App

Have you tested the output files with a program that is KNOWN to work with subtitles in MKV files, like VLC?

Encode logs from one of the rips would be helpful in verifying if there was a problem with the settings for the encode.

Large file size is automatically used if the MP4 goes over 4GB; no need to select it beforehand.
