Nah  , Ultrafast preset on lowest clocked haswell i3 still way slower than quicksync.

Re: [Request] AMD VCE 1.0 / 2.0 support?

Once you have the new machine, I'd suggest doing some side-by-side comparisons on speed vs. size. Take the same video source and settings, and just switch between x264 and QSV encoders. I have a QSV-compatible machine here, but I don't use that feature. Yes, the speed is wonderful, but... I'd rathe...

Okay.......then my upcoming purchase in 2 months will be Intel Core I3 with quicksync.

I agree with both of your opinions in a sense most test revealed VCE is much more slower than Quicksync plus the terrible support by AMD.

AMD VCE 1.0 / 2.0 support?

Since Handbrake already support Intel quicksync, why not VCE as well?

Re: [svn5671]QSV: video fails with Lookahead

That aside, the nightly 5747 QSV has serious issue with constant quality and average bitrate selection when Intel QSV engine is selected. gmb, did you notice the log [18:23:10] encqsvInit: RateControlMethod AVBR TargetKbps 1000 ? Even though Constant Quality is selected, the QSV overides it wi...

Re: Handbrake QSV beta 10bit to 8bit h.264?

So, this means current beta is using IGPU to decode and then encode the 8bit h.264 video, which explains 120fps when QSV engine is being used. Let me get this straight, you said it is possible to use CPU to decode 10bit and then encode using IGPU to 8bit? If that is true, I am gladly willing...

Re: New QSV beta - QSV preset removed?

By the way, I also noticed users don't actually need to use LucidVirtu software if they can activate their IGPU at BIOS/EUFI even with discrete GPU inserted. I tested with my Z77 board (using HandBrake-svn5671 QSV beta) and follow the instruction here http://mirillis.com/en/products/tutorials/action...

Handbrake QSV beta 10bit to 8bit h.264?

Question, does the latest beta of QSV engine support transcoding 10bit to 8bit h.264 video?

I noticed the x.264 engine can transcode 10bit video to 8bit just fine, but since it is software based (aka using CPU only), I only get around 10-15fps when using preset superfast.
