Re: Inconsistencies in Selection of Audio Tracks

Wow, you guys are fast. I really appreciate it! Incidentally, the subtitle tracks use to have a similar issue (especially dependent on whether you used the option to add all tracks for "select" languages or all tracks for "preferred" language), but I couldn't repeat it with the latest nightly. So, I...

Inconsistencies in Selection of Audio Tracks

I have noticed some inconsistencies in the Windows GUI's selection of audio when there are multiple tracks. My desired behavior is to automatically select ALL English tracks. I am using the High Profile. Source is a ripped DVD folder with 4 English audio tracks (Blade). Preset is Normal (default). P...

[Fixed] [WinGUI] Chapters/Seconds/Frames

The Windows GUI no longer auto-fills in the starting and ending values when the units are chapters. That is, when I change from chapters to seconds, it use to auto-fill in the start/end values for current title. Now, it leaves whatever was already there for the chapters (i.e., if the chapters are 1-...

Queue When Done State

I think there may be a bug in maintaining the "When Done" state for the queue. I had it on "Shutdown". I just set it to "Do Nothing" and transcoded a title. After it was finished, Handbrake still attempted to shutdown. Actually, I hit "Stop" before the encoding was finished, and Handbrake immediatel...

Container Types and Browse

With the old version (0.9.8), when you click the Browse button, it will auto-select the container type to match the container already selected. With 0.9.9., the default is always .mp4. So, you aren't care and remember to always set the container when choosing a file, it will change the container typ...

Queue File Conversion

I like to keep a backup of all my queue files. Entering all the titles in can be very laborious, especially for TV shows. This way, I don't have to reenter all that information in case I want to transcode them again. I finally moved off of 0.9.8 and starting using the lasted nightly version. I have ...

Re: CPU usage fluctuates while encoding

Check your power settings. If not set to "performance," Windows will actually put one or more of the processors to sleep.

[Fixed] Job Queue Bug

If there is an item in the queue, and I right-click and say "import", and then hit cancel, the item already in the queue will be duplicated.

Thanks.

Re: [solved] Encoding causes unexpected shut down of Windows

Very anoying when somebody say it without further explanation. However, most things can be found by searching --> First hit on Google . I assumed people around here would either 1) already know how to use shutdown.exe, or 2) not be interested in replicating my behavior. Regardless, you seemed to fi...

Re: [solved] Encoding causes unexpected shut down of Windows

I do all the time. So, what I've done is put a shortcut on my desktop to cancel the shutdown. Works great. (of course, it only works if you are sitting in front of your computer when the shutdown warning is displayed.)

Re: Missing DVD title / chapter on source scan

I wish you wouldn't say never mind. I, too, see this a lot (especially on special features). It is always when multiple items are packed into one title. Handbrake can see the first item, but not the others. Would be nice to see it fix. It gets to be a pain to have to stop and use MakeMVK to split th...

Commentary Audio

When the commentary audio is in a different title than the normal audio, but the video for the two titles is exactly the same, is there a way to combine them into one .mkv file?

Re: directories

OK, awesome. I do my transcoding on my Windows 7 rig. I've been testing the new builds of Handbrake on my XP laptop. So, it must be a legacy issue. No biggie.

Thanks.

Handbrake 0.9.9 doesn't remember the last directory opened like 0.9.8 did. You have to start back at the top of tree and navigation down each time.

Browse for Folder

I don't know if it's the nightly build, or something messed up with my fonts, but when I click on "Open Folder", the dialog box has a string of (seemingly) Chinese characters under the words "Browse For Folder".

Re: Audio Bug in Nightly

Just to be clear: I don't mind the duplicate audio tracks. The currently release version will add the first track as AAC, and add it again as AC3 passthru. I actually like this, because it gives me the option, and supports the widest range of players. It will then add the additional tracks (e.g., co...
