Cropping
Can someone please tell me the correlation between width/height and cropping? I noticed on the Windows GUI, when I adjust the cropping, it will automatically adjust the width and/or height. Should I do the same with the command line tool or should I just set the width to what I want (e.g., 720) and ...

Unicode
Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible: HandBrake's handling of Unicode seems to be inconsistent (or it could be just me). In the early part of the scan dump, it will properly display non-ASCII characters, such as the ñ in "español", but in the latter part (w...
Re: Nightly
I have no issue building it myself. I was just afraid you were in the middle of some big change and that I shouldn't use the latest yet. Now that I know it's just a server issue, I will just sync with GIT and build it.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Nightly
Sorry if this was already addressed somewhere (I didn't see anything). Is the build server for your Windows nightly down? I see it haven't been built in a while. Or is the code just not in a usable state right now? I built it myself last weekend, but it didn't behave very well (it would never finish...

[Fixed] Audio Selection Is Broken
Please describe the problem in as much detail as possible: The automatic audio track selection is broken in the Windows nightly. It selects tracks for the wrong language. HandBrake Nightly 20160129213455-ce4f5d7-master (2016013001) - 64bit Version does NOT have this issue. It broke somewhere betwee...

That doesn't sound like a memory allocation issue to me, at all.

Yes, VLC plays it fine. Just transcoded it with CloneDVD Mobile and had no issues.

Re: Transcoded Title Too Short
The exact thing just happened again with a different episode on a different disc. HandBrake cut out a segment of the video from the end of the "recap" until the first chapter mark. HandBrake Nightly 20160129213455-ce4f5d7-master (2016013001) - 64bit Version OS: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.760...

Re: Transcoded Title Too Short
If I understand you correctly, they use "seemless branching" for the scenes that are used multiple time. Yes?
That isn't the case here. The recaps for each episode are unique. They just give you the option to skip over them. Why they didn't just use a chapter mark, I have no idea.
Thanks.

Re: Transcoded Title Too Short
Yeah, I just worked out the math. The section HandBrake removes accounts for the missing time exactly. It seems that HandBrake is not parsing the DVD structure properly.
Can I provide that more info that would be helpful?

Re: Transcoded Title Too Short
The 3rd rip using a different drive is also the same. The interesting thing is the DVD has an option to skip over the "recap" from the previous episode. That's right where HandBrake seems to be messing up (after the recap is over). It puts a chapter mark right at that point (about one minu...

Re: Transcoded Title Too Short
The two rips are identical. I am ripping with a different drive to see if that makes any difference.

Re: Transcoded Title Too Short
No, it didn't. I just ripped it a 2nd time without issue. Would be of value if I tried transcoding with the new rip (or even diffing the two rips)?

Re: Transcoded Title Too Short
I just grepped the all files in HandBrake's "logs" files. Pretty much all of them have a few of these messages.

Transcoded Title Too Short
Please describe the problem in as much detail as possible: I am trying to transcode a DVD tile (ripped to HDD via AnyDVD) to MKV. The source is 39 minute and 34 seconds. The resulting file is only 23 minutes and 57 seconds. If I extract the title with MakeMKV first, the problem goes away. I have no...

Re: Frame Selection
Thanks, John. Yes, the file plays fine after transcoding it with HandBrake. The only thing I've noticed is that, unless I explicitly specify the frame rate, if I try to jump around in VLC (e.g., while inspecting the results), VLC goes out to lunch or takes a long time to finish seeking. I'm sure I'm...

Re: Frame Selection
That was the first thing I tried. That seems to make things worse. HandBrake thought that new file had a duration of about 4 times what it really was. HandBrake seems to work fine if I use seconds instead of frames, but whole seconds is too coarse (I want about a 1/2 more on the end before it cuts o...

Re: Frame Selection
Well, typical films of the era were shot at about 16 fps, so that makes sense (which is why, I assume, the log says the source file is 16.5 fps).
