Re: New Windows Update KB4514359 broke Handbrake

It's not the Microsoft patch itself. It's that + something else on the system that triggers this. Any kind of software for screen capture, system monitoring, overclocking tools, remote desktops, anything touching Direct3D could be triggering this. Unfortunately, there isn't anything we can do on the...

Yup, there's a bug here.

Can you try a nightly build from the download page, it looks like it's an issue that's already been corrected.

Re: Batch/bulk merging/including of subtitles

HandBrake is not the tool your looking for. We don't support pure muxing, nor AVI, Not all of the above subtitle options.

Try ffmpeg command line instead.

Re: GeForce GTX 1660 or GTX 1660 TI?

OpenCL support has been removed so it makes no difference which card you take. Making encodes slower wasn't beneficial to anyone. (That's when it even worked). It's only real use-case was for those old, slow AMD APU's, Ergo, It's gone. NVEnc I believe is identical on both in terms of performance (bu...

Re: AMD 2990wx

You shouldn't be seeing the behaviour you describe.

Without access to such hardware, my best guess is there is some kind of scheduling issue inside windows. It may be worth checking for BIOS updates with newer AMD AGESA

Worth checking your defiantly running in dual or quad channel memory mode.

Try the flatpak build from our site. Save you a lot of drama.

We don't support broken 3rd party builds.

Could be the AC3 audio track you encoded. Maybe Try AAC.

Otherwise, if your TV can't play it, it's most likely a bug in the TV's parser.

A base ubuntu docker image adding the requirements via apt-get is all you really need.

Or just as easy, WSL on windows 10 is easy.

GUI, Never tried the core windows images. Not sure how easy it is to get stuff installed into those.

What is telling you that?

There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the encoded files. The log indicates 5.1 mixdown was set correctly.

eGPU has never been tested.

In theory it should work, in practice there could be issues or even bandwidth constraints due to the 4x slot.

As I said - I only have changed the encoder settiings, all others left equal. It's not actually that simple. You have infact changed many variables by not changing anything. For example, x265 and the hardware encoders use different rate control methods, meaing RF 22 is not the same as CQ 22. Also, ...

Re: Won't Rip Full Blu-ray Disc

Each title of on a disc (represented by the title dropdown in HandBrake), would need to be encoded into a separate file. You can't putan entire Bluray into an MP4 file.

What is the name of the file you downloaded? Sounds like you may have downloaded HandBrakeCLI (which is a Command line app, not an installer)

Re: Problem scaling when both QSV encoder/decoder set.

This is correct. If you use QSV Decode currently, we have all filters disabled. There is work TBD to complete the zero-copy implementation that's not in yet that is required to allow re-enable of filters.

Re: Metadata/Timestamps

There is no option to change this. Your creating a "new" file that's different from the source, so the file created dates will be the encoded time. You can potentially write a script to do and have this run using the "When done" option in preferences. You'd probably need the source/destination filen...

The primary vendor must be the computer (or video card) manufacturer. If they are f**king up, they need to know it.
They know, they don't care and currently have no reason to care. They have your money.

Since it happened on the subtitle pass, it's pretty much irrelevant in this case.

Re: NOTICE: Read Me if HandBrake won't start

Your OEM Nividia drivers, are from Nvidia so there should be no issue there. As always, there is a risk of problems with driver updates, but given the trend for OEMs providing out-of-date, broken, or stripped down drivers i'd always go towards the primary vendor as a first call, and only fallback to...

Re: Ryzen 9 3900x X264 not maxing out all cores

I'd maybe hold off until the 16-core comes out until we cans see some reviews for it. While it will depend on your settings/source resolution etc, I would expect that reasonable settings (with few/no filters) should scale to 16 cores fine assuming a bottleneck doesn't show up. It doesn't look like I...
