Unfortunately not. I do not and will not use the MP4 container.

Re: Multi-Episode Disc conversion?!

Handbrake will not convert them into one file.

It will do a file per episode (title on the DVD)

You will need to find another product to join them if that is what you wish.

Re: Naming Subtitles?

In the meantime, to edit the names in MKV, use MKVToolnix.

Re: [Rejected] Resize/Scale Filter in Handbrake

Well, get over it. Your suggestion has been rejected by the developers and that's that.

They don't have time to waste justifying the decision to you.

Re: Subtitles

Yeah, you have.... I'll try to be simplistic in my approach. I define "RIPPING THE DISC" as copying the content of a DVD or Blu-Ray to a folder or ISO image on your hard disk minus any copy protection. This maintains the DVD/BR structure with menus/extras, the whole catastrophe. Handbrake will not d...

"for most users it is inconvenient to use the CLI version for various reasons" should read "For me, it is inconvenient to use the CLI version because I don't want to spend any time learning it"

Re: Canon EOS 1080p convert to BluRay quality on DVD

Well you still don't need Handbrake.

Just use whatever free utilities that came with your computer/burner (eg:- Nero, Toast) to make a data disk with the files on it that you want.

Re: Canon EOS 1080p convert to BluRay quality on DVD

If your target is a DVD then Handbrake is not the utility for you.

You should be able to do it directly from VideoStudio Pro. I have an old copy of VideoStudio 12 and can do it.

Re: Soft subtitles

The Apple ecosystem only supports some subtitle types and I do not think that VOB/Sub is one of them.

I'd wait until one of my colleagues more skilled with the Apple ecosystem answers though.

Try copying the DAT files to your hard disk and rename them with the mpg extension first.

Re: Subtitles

And also information on your target playback device(s) would help.

Some will just not utilise soft subs. You would be better using the MKV container if VLC is your target player and soft subs that you can turn on/off.

Forget WMP as it is a piece of sh*t.

Re: Chapter Markers Creating Metadata & Unknown Text Stream

I suggest that you to a test encode using the MKV container instead of the MP4/M4V one and try that in VLC and report back.

Handbrake knows NOTHING about encryption and never has.

You have made an incorrect assumption.

Re: New Features for HB 1.0

Bummer!! I thought it a good idea because I just bought a remote control car for my Grandson and it would only take 30 seconds to add. How dare the developers deny this tiny request when they get paid huge salaries, sit around in the sun drinking beer and I have absolutely no idea what I am talking ...

Re: Chapter Markers Creating Metadata & Unknown Text Stream

For players to utilise the chapter markers the file should be m4v. Just rename it and give it a go.

This is expected behaviour that the chapters are held as a text file within the container.
