choco nacho: the Universal preset should ensure compatibility with your iPod. If the preset doesn't work, then post an activity log as requested in the red banner at the top.

Re: Handbrake doesn't see part of Mr. Bean DVD
You should download the snapshot (see the announcement in the General forum), enable libdvdnav in Preferences (you need to relaunch HB for that pref to take effect), and try with that.

Re: Snow Leopard + 0.9.3 Do Not Work
I had a crashing problem with 0.9.3, then started using the latest snapshot build (all on 10.6) and have had no crashing. I have no activity log (not sure how to get one of those, especially when there's no problem), but using it might be something to consider. Didn't work for me. I still get the G...

Shouldn't the Universal preset work with 1st-generation iPod touches too, as per your chart?rhester wrote:Use the iPod Legacy preset.

Don't use the MKV container, or try the snapshot (in the announcements section of the General forum).

Re: Subtitles - Which ones to choose??
If you're using the snapshot, choose Foreign Audio Search and check Forced Only. If you're encoding to an MKV container, you may want to check the Default checkbox so that the subtitles are displayed by default (will have no effect if you select Burned In, since that options encodes the subs in the ...

Re: HandBrake SVN2773 Snapshot
Should performance be reduced for these snapshot builds? I ask because I'm ripping blu ray and I'm only averaging about 6 fps when encoding from a mkv file at 720p. Takes about 4-5 hours per file. When I encoded at 1080p it took about 16 hours!! I have a iMac core 2 duo so I would think I'd get bet...

Re: No audio with .MP4 converts
Sounds like your player can't decode (doesn't support) AC3 in MP4. If that's the case, the good news is that you should be able to remux your existing MP4 encodes to MKV with mkvtoolnix.
Re: The Hire
I'm running into the same issue, but on an evil PC. Using DVDfab 6 to import the short videos, in either Full Disc or Main Movie modes, created rips that Handbrake (beta, svn2773) was unable to understand. This is the only DVD which has given this problem. While I haven't had any problems with DVDF...

Re: HandBrake SVN2773 Snapshot
On OSX, is there any difference between the 64bit and 32 bit other than ones 64bit and ones 32bit? I think I remember older versions of the 64bit version could not rip dvds from disc. Under Mac OS X, HandBrake uses VLC to decrypt DVDs. A 32-bit HandBrake build requires a 32-bit VLC build; 64-bit HB...

I see this too, even in MP4. Re: [svn2773] Old custom setting don't create desired result
s55 pointed out on IRC that the .mp4 extension may cause iTunes to not accept the video at all, and that you should use .m4v instead. Plus, you'll want to use that extension anyway since iTunes and Apple devices won't recognize chapters or AC3 tracks without it. Also, since you seem to be encoding f...

Re: [svn2773] Old custom setting don't create desired result
But unfortunately iTunes doesn't appear to be recognising the MKV or MP4 containers. :( iTunes doesn't support MKV. It does support MP4 though. I've tried not to mess about with the settings too much, just modified the new Apple Universal Profile to work. Please provide an encode log for your new M...

You'll just have to adapt the x264 options in your preset.HandBrake SVN2773 Snapshot wrote: x264 bumped from 1169 to 1195, which means new default settings (see r2742 commit comment).

Looks like you might encoding a (commercial?) DVD straight from the optical drive. If that's the case, please look at:cerunnos917 wrote:Code: Select all

If I am not mistaken, many of the Windows GUI bugs of the svn2592 snapshot have been fixed in the svn2773 snapshot.hunterk wrote:have you tried using the more recent developer snapshot? Apparently the Win GUI is buggy in that version, but it might solve the problem you're currently having.

Libx264 autosets level these days. What part of "Libx264 autosets level" don't you understand? Again: libx264 autosets level. Is it set by the preset in Handbrake? jbrjake said: libx264 autosets level. Libx264 is libx264. Where did you get the idea that the HandBrake preset set the level?...
