Re: Advanced Bluray/HDDVD Workflow & Features Discussion

It has been brought to my attention that I failed to mention how to get the output from ChapterGrabber to work with mp4chaps. The output from eac3to (and ChapterGrabber) will look like this: I can make a converter for you if you think that'd be useful. Would be trivial to make, and I'm sure you'd f...

So there is, that would defintly make it easier for him.
So OP, just download MetaX, go into the app package, locate atomicparsley,
open the terminal, and chug away ;P

Gotcha, thanks ;D.
Then I will find my own way around the ripping of subtitles
problem then; will probably just end up coding it myself eventually.
Which I'm guessing won't be too fun haha.
Back to work haha.

Subtitles: How are they currently burned onto the encode?

Finally realized, that I need to stop adding features and stabilize things before the release of my app. But I thought I'd just ask one more question, but I wasn't sure which forum to put it in. (But I think this forum is the most appropriate ;P) Handbrake allows for ripping the subtitles from a DVD...

Re: adding ipod atom

I had a read through the AtomicParsley and didn't really understand a word of it. Can someone give me a bit of an idea in layman's terms. Cheers. What platform are you on? OS X, Windows? Cause I'm in the middle of writing a gui in os x to package up a lot of options, post-encode. That being one of ...

Re: What is the best quality rescue mode?

Glad I could help ^__^. It really depends on your source. But the MP4 will fare much better in this situation than AVI. Make sure to use "x264" as your encoder. And with old sources, picture filters should help, like de-noise. Set it to weak and encode a chapter. Also, advanced settings will help wi...

Re: Subtitle/Audio ripper: from DVD?

Tested it out, and FFMPEGX works perfectly in ripping Vobsob(s). You saved me there, jbrjake ;). But thinking about it, ffmpegX is like a wrapper to about a million CLIs. Which means it's probably using, one and/or a few to rip the Vobsobs, & it would be incredibly more helpful if I was using a CLI ...

Re: Personal Preference: "The (Title)" or "(Title), The"

"The (Title)" it is ^__^. Although the sorting metadata (for iTunes) will use "(Title)" for it's name stripping out "The" which makes sense to me. It doesn't actually strip it out, it uses what is put in the Title field under the Sorting tab. It's just smart enough to automatically do this for you ...

Re: Bus error when using "-L -t 0"

Longest title and scan? Huh? That doesn't even make sense. Haha, I understand your rational. It obviously needs to scan ALL the titles to figure out what the longest title is. But I wanted handbrake to ONLY *display* the longest titles data (regardless of what it scanned) so I could analyze it (as ...

Bus error when using "-t 0 -L"

This is not a huge deal, and I'm sure I'm not formatting my CLI commands correctly, but nonetheless it still kind of bugs me that I'm doing it wrong. So I was wondering why I get a "Bus error" when I use *drum role*: iMac:~ Joel$ /Applications/CLI/HandBrakeCLI -i /Volumes/LaCie/Eternal -t 0 -L Here'...

Re: adding ipod atom

AtomicParsley, although it needs to be compiled from the SVN.
Then in the CLI:
"atomicparsley --DeepScan --iPod-uuid 1200 filename.mp4".

I believe that should work, although I've never had to do it.

Re: My HandBrake Conversion Settings

As I understood, and as such, have used it; sprites had nothing to do with chapter art. They were clickable hotspot (akin to a dvd menu) than could be setup to do anything to manipulate a .mov format movie (like go to chapter, turn subtitles on and off, change audio track, go to page etc.) And likew...

Interesting solution. I look forward to following your progress. Thanks ^__^. I figured it was for the best until I achieved full compatibility. The "one-fell-swoop" program is just sitting in XCode, waiting to be compiled as soon as I figure it out. And do you think it'd be good to just post here,...

Thanks man,
ironically, ffmpegX is a program I already have, and wasn't even aware

And I've heard of 0Sex, but wasn't aware it could do that,

Anyone know of a OS X app that can rip subtitles in vobsub (.idx) format? Or any app that could likewise rip just the audio files from a dvd source? CLI or otherwise. Re: How to make your source ready for conversion

I have found the solution in MPEGStreamclip (which is a pitty, because I purchased an Elgato Turbo.264, which doesn't have these problems... but introduces some lack of quality). The solution is use MPEGStreamclip to fix timecode breaks and when that's done demux your movie in .m2v and .ac3. Open t...

What do you like to store your movie titles as?
For example: "The Jacket" or "Jacket, The"?

Just trying to get a feel as to what other users use the most,
(setting up the default values of my app ;).
