Re: AppleTV: Always defaults to "Commentary" audio track?

All of your information correlates to what I've discovered. But thank you for more test data ^__^. I put the rest of the REing til the beginning of April (sometime in the next 2 weeks). I'm now using the work-a-round mentioned previously for my encodes. And it maintains full compatibility throughout...

Re: iTunes Genius & cnID (Solved)

I was really hoping they would just use the metadata; I've spent a lot of time making sure all the info (including actors and directors) were perfect. I did the same thing. & I was really looking forward to Movie/TV Show Genius. But when Genius suggested i buy "The Dark Knight: because it co...

Re: iTunes Genius & cnID (Solved)

Using mp4v2 I can insert a new cnID.
& browsing in iTunes you can right click on a movie & select "Copy URL".

You can then look at whats in the clipboard, pick the cnID from it & insert it with the CLI
from mp4v2 ^__^. Movie Genius now works D.

iTunes Genius & cnID (Solved)

Genius for iTunes just popped up recently and I realize that it doesn't work with my rips, yet it does work with my purchased shows/movies. I always knew not having the "same" cnID for the movies in the iTunes store would cause problems eventually. EDIT: Non-issue anymore, solved it. Would of delete...

Re: AppleTV 2.3.1

It's changed nothing big afaik. Not even how it handles audio tracks & multiple alternate groups and such. But, it did happen to change the way the menu for buying movies displays on my screen. It cuts off the "T" in "Top Movies" and the other words as well. Found that odd, but it's not a big deal; ...

'compatible' well unless anyone else adopts it no one but you would read/write it either way. If I remember correctly you now C, don't you? .... Re: Can anyone help me with inserting a custom UUID?

What exactly do you want o put in? A reverse DNS style atom or a normal atom? For the later a quick hack would be possible, for the later I'd suggest the atomic parsley route since I don't even know when the reverse DNS implementation im mp4v2 was tested by anyone. I was thinking just a normal atom...

Re: Can anyone help me with inserting a custom UUID?

Not sure, but the mp4v2 library may have something that can help as well. http://code.google.com/p/mp4v2 Thanks :D. mp4v2 was actually the first project I looked at to see if it could do this for me. But I couldn't find any option to do so, from looking at the help file & documentation. I would ver...

Re: adding ipod atom

I did give it a red hot go in the terminal, but unfortunitly it didn't work. I would need much more detailed directions. How is your little app coming along. It's a tad behind schedule. I'm sorry ;P. But I'll be sure to give you a PM when it's done. Or you can check http://ijoel.net every now & the...

Re: Can anyone help me with inserting a custom UUID?

This would probably be better asked on the AtomicParsley forums. Rodney That's true, I was actually under the impression that their project/forum was somewhat dead-ish. Which is why I thought the Tiki-Bar here would be a nice place ;P. I've submitted the same topic there. But if anyone could point ...

Can anyone help me with inserting a custom UUID?

I need to insert two custom strings into the metadata of a M4V.
I see that it can be done with AtomicParsley, but I can't figure out
exactly how to.

Does anyone or has anyone done this consistently before?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ^__^

Re: Blu-Ray or DVD Universal Preset

two encodes -- 1 with slightly modified appletv preset, the other with slightly modified universal preset. I completely agree, & it's what I'll be doing when I get an external Blu-Ray drive. But, just curious, but when you say "slightly modified", what are you referring to? Are you talking about ch...

Re: Blu-Ray or DVD Universal Preset

Better quality, yes. Worth the effort, subjective, but for me personally, it's too much work unless it's a 720p encode for the ATV & a Universal encode for everything else. For just a Universal encode, I'd just buy the DVD; they're cheaper, and it's not worth the quality gain IMO unless you encode i...

Re: Can the CLI scan (-t 0) a single Title?

Some titles are protected in such a way that the title scan will indeed crash, as you've noted. There is no way to do the scan for a specific title without encoding, though patches are welcome. =) Rodney I'd be happy to work on a patch for that. But need to finish my current project ^__^ which shou...

Re: Can the CLI scan (-t 0) a single Title?

Sure... -t <title_number> Am I missing the obvious question here? Rodney Well, to just jump right into encoding "-t <title_number>" works perfectly. But you see, I just want it to scan the title. & not automatically start the encoding. If I don't inlude an output file, it complains that since I sel...

Re: Can the CLI scan (-t 0) a single Title?

The GUI seems to be capable of this with the "Open Specific Title..." File Option. It just scans a displays the information from a single Title that you choose, bypassing most types of copy protection techniques. Is this a joke? The only thing HandBrake has ever "bypassed" is basic CSS encryption c...

Re: HD tag in iTunes

The cnID is the internal catalog ID of the iTunes Store. You can find the number in iTunes store links but I you can also just make numbers up. Syntax is the same as the the one to add the HD tag, just replace the H with an I and the 1 with your cnId so it looks like this: ./mp4tags -I <thecnID> <t...

Re: Handbrake better compression results than iTunes???

& also, Apple's MP4 files need to be compatible with everything Apple has out. Their files would indeed be smaller, if they encoded it just for the AppleTV (what you did ;)), as they would be able to use more advanced options. But regardless of that, x264 is much better in any case. So it's files wo...

Re: AppleScript and do shell script

Run the "do shell script" in the background. & end the script. That way the HandbrakeCLI will still be running, but your script execution will be done. Then if another file get's added to the list your Folder Action script will execute. Even though there's already a file encoding with HandbrakeCLI. ...
