Re: HandBrake 0.9.8 Released
I noticed detelecine went from default to off on the high profile. Was this intentional, and if so why? I seem to remember when I read up on it a while back it was recommended to set it to default, hence it being that way in the preset.

Re: Anamorphic video
Both DVDs, the first is Revolver, which looks excellent, and the second is TMNT, which looks ok, but not nearly as good, not sure why. It has more motion, but the contant quality I would think would make up for it, simply making it a larger filesize. I read elsewhere on the forum anime requires a lo...

Dolby Pro Logic II
I did encodes of a clip from a movie for each of the audio settings to compare how they sound, and I noticed all but the 6 channel discrete and mono were the same size and upon examination in MediaInfo and GSpot seem to be almost identical. Even the "mono" one is 2 channels, it's just half...

Re: Anamorphic video
One was 720x304 / 720x368 nonanamorphic / anamorphic, the other 720x304 / 720x352. The bitrates according to MediaInfo are 534kbps / 628kbps and 1060kbps / 1207 kbps. According to GSpot they are 698 / 793 and 1224 / 1372. I'm guessing the variance is due to how each program averages the VBR. I didn'...

Anamorphic video
First of all, allow me to apologize for beating this dead horse yet again. I'll start by saying I've read the anamorphic guide and numerous threads about it, and feel I have a good grasp on it. My question isn't about how it works or anything like that, it's about the quality between anamorphic and ...

Re: Ripping from CDROM slow...
I use a combination of DVD Decrypter and AnyDVD, which works very well, but unfortunately AnyDVD is not free. I'm not sure if there's a good free solution. Maybe use the old version of Handbrake for that, then upgrade for your encodes?

Re: Ripping from CDROM slow...
I don't have a solution, but a suggestion. Doing that many movies would probably be a lot easier and quicker if you just take the time to rip as many as you can at a time (leaving room for the encodes of course) then add them all to Handbrake's queue and just let it go. That way it'll move on to the...

Re: no titles found in Video_TS folder
Go into the folder and delete all the VTS_0x_0 files (where x is a #) that have no VTS_0x_1,2,3,etc along with them.
For example, folder contents:
VIDEO_TS
VTS_01_0
VTS_01_1
VTS_01_2
VTS_01_3
VTS_01_4
VTS_02_0
VTS_03_0
VTS_04_0
Delete the last three files.
For example, folder contents:
VIDEO_TS
VTS_01_0
VTS_01_1
VTS_01_2
VTS_01_3
VTS_01_4
VTS_02_0
VTS_03_0
VTS_04_0

Bright line on bottom (& sometimes top) of video
I have been playing with 0.9.3, and first I'd just like to say excellent job, you guys have done a wonderful job with it. I have one problem which I haven't been able to solve or find anything about, so I was hoping I could get some help with it. I've encoded random single chapters from a few differ...
