Thanks! that did the trick! I'll leave weighted b-frames disables on all future encodes. I have about 150 more titles to do. The small increase in file size is not a deal breaker. I just purchased a 2T Lacie for $325 so I'm good to go.
Cheers!

Re: Opening credits fade in and out in steps
Ahh! Thanks! I'll disable weighted B frames in my HQ setting and see. Does this dramatically affect the quality? Thanks again!

Re: Opening credits fade in and out in steps
This is the log from a single chapter test on a title that is a classic example of the issue. This has credits over black fading in/out and various BGs with the same rate of fade in/out. The scenes with busy BGs such as moving thru clouds the credits fade as normal. When the BG is a static shot they...

Re: Opening credits fade in and out in steps
Hmmmm. The only changes to the AppleTV preset I made (intentionally that is) is the quality setting (set to 62%). I'll check but I'm pretty sure it's same as source. The rest of the encode is always fine. Just white on black fade in and out looks stepped (not a smooth fade out as on the DVD).

Opening credits fade in and out in steps
Thanks for a superb app. I have done dozens of successful encodes for Apple TV and iPod touch and it screams on my MacPro 8core! I have an observation that I was wondering if anyone has seen/ has a work-around for. During opening credits (white type on black BG) there is a distinct stepping of the f...

PLII, 5.1 and Commentary on ATV 2.2...almost
So, after reading other posts, it seems we know about the extra commentary track (creates 3 tracks or more in movie) confuses ATV. Now the 5.1 track does not play (unless it is specifically selected), all other "stereo" aac tracks (labeled English) are checked in the new ATV audio menu, an...

Will Do. Thanks! Anything special I need to be aware of? I do not have any compiling capabilities. Oh, sorry for not using the code block on the log output.

Why do some dvd's encode with skipped or dupe frames
Hi, I have hundreds of dvds and I noticed some of them are turning brown! I lost (won't play) only one movie so far. So I've been converting more "OLD" DVDs these days. I've had dozens of successful conversions to AppleTV (Thanks to all developers!) but lately not so good. "The Mighty...
