Re: [svn2773] HandBrake Crashing
I was going to report the same bug. Except with mine it seems the first time I try a source it works fine. It's only when I stop and make a change/restart or just try to do the same thing a second time that it crashes. I'll try the in-app update when I get home from work today. Might that also expla...

Re: Washed out images compared to original
A lot of what I do is cartoons, and I have the same trouble. The Handbrake output just doesn't pop. I fix it afterwords by running it through Mpeg Streamclip. Just load it up, trim the beginning and end (if necessary), then do a save as and choose MP4. It destroys the set chapters you may have had, ...

Re: Can't get Kung Fu Panda copied
Just an FYI on my experience: MactheRipper (old) will rip KFP, but it's a bad rip and and Handbrake will eventually lose DVD sync and cause a chapter dropoff & repeat, at least in the last 2 snapshots. The latest DVD Fab Decrypter on windows produces a good rip though that Handbrake has no troub...

Re: When do you detelecine a film?
I'm inclined to not worry about it and just use the preset defaults, with the exception of enabling detelecine & decomb on cartoons/pixar/disney when using the AppleTV preset (animation already defaulted), then just look for visual abnormalities after the fact. I've seen those film video switche...

When do you detelecine a film?
Snapshots have detelecine and decomb on by default now for the animation and television presets, but not film. So when would you want to use detelecine for a regular old feature film DVD using the film preset? Obviously I'm not referring to obvious hard-telecining where you can see the lines, but mo...

Re: Post Your "Best Settings" here and Why.
If anyone cares to do so, I would love to hear someone's "Best Settings" for exporting 1080i and 720p MPGE2 EyeTV recordings to 720p/H.264 using handbrake. I've been doing a lot of tinkering and experimenting, but still haven't decided what I'm going to use. So far, I am using the Apple T...
