testing on dual Xeon 3.2 and I am only getting 33+fps at 50% CPU usage...
How can i improve this? i need at least 60 fps

i just want to help with storage LOL HDD are cheap but i am just doing a proff of concept
i have 4mb/s WMV-HD at ~800Mb, why did they go with wmv and not h264? how much can x264 compress wmv-hd?

how can i replicate the SAME quality at the 1/2 filesize

1. for editing, the 2 lossless codecs are huffyuv and lagarith, they will generate huge filesizes in AVI format 2. the nle's are sony vegas, adobe premiere and the ulead videomaker.......or the consumer editors ms moviemaker, cyberlink's, once they are in lossless AVI, most editors will read them on...

i checked the settings
1. film:1800
2. TV: 1300
3. animation: 1000
how did they come up with that?? are there any screens of the differences?
SO basically bitrate of 1000 is bare min for DVD?

erhhm, AVI is native to the PC, does quicktime even support AVI ??
If you are on a MAC why not use the MAC native mp4, that will happily run on quicktime?

Also when u encode and then run another program thats also intensive eg a game....would the encode drop frames? or would it encode perfectly at 5 frames /sec ? LOL
