Re: Full length of DVD title won't rip
Thanks for the additional info all. I also went through trying to rip these titles on the Mac HB and some work OK, but most titles end up with something at the beginning (like an ad), or something stuck in the middle, or chapters rip out of order (you can see the time remaining jump up and down on-s...

Re: Full length of DVD title won't rip
Nope. Disc 6 (Yoga/Pilates), Title 3 rip starts in a different place (middle of an ad for tai cheng) instead of the beginning of the expected video title. Not happy.

Re: Full length of DVD title won't rip
Based on the first 2 discs, Cold Start is Title 1, then the two sessions are Titles 3 and 4. Will probably be the same for all discs.

It looks like Total Synergistics on Disk 2 is Title 3.

Re: Full length of DVD title won't rip
I posted a thread about this 3 hours after you because I didn't recognize the problem from the title. The symptoms I have seen are that when you play the P90X3 Disc 2 in DVD Player, the Total Synergistics title # which plays, changes each time you load the disc. This is some some kind of very intere...

Ignore this thread and let's talk about this in viewtopic.php?f=5&t=29006 which I apparently didn't figure out was the same issue by title scanning.

Title in DVD Player changes each time
(I searched, I really did.) I've never seen this before. The disc as a whole won't scan properly, so I run DVD Player to get the correct title to rip. Problem is, each time I load the disc, DVD Player loads a different title for the same menu item. This trickery is not allowing me to rip the title i...

I don't know what iflicks is, but for tagging files, one of the best is Subler. See the thread in this forum.

Movies purchased from the iTunes store can be played back on Apple hardware/software only (itunes, AppleTV, iPod/iPhone). They are encrypted. But you say you've converted iTunes-store purchased movies before?

Re: Can I do something else on my computer while encoding?
No offense meant to the OP, but I just laughed out loud (at work) on this question. When I'm encoding stuff with HB, I'm also invariably outputting demuxed files from ProjectX and remuxing another file with avidemux at the same time. And while waiting for that, there's reading the forums here, and d...

Are you looking on the PC side? If so, I can't help. Final Cut Express/Pro and iMovie on the Mac side all handle AVC.

Re: Settings for HDTV Captures?
You almost definitely need to detelecine and leave framerate set to source. I do HTDV encodes (not animations) from 1080i and 720p every week, and for the 1080i stuff, you need detelecine. It will be your friend. I do not decomb nor detelecine any 720p source because, if it is truly 720p, there are ...

Re: Any chance Windows Media WVP2/wmav2 could be supported?
Based on what I've found searching the good ol' net, even trying with a new compile of ffmpeg, I don't think there's any chance I'll find a way to transcode this file format. Apps that claim to be able to, fail miserably.

If the current SVN supports DTS passthrough, you can read up on how to compile your own unsupported version of HB.

0.9a2 is out with a few improvements to the metadata tableview and cc supports. I don't know how well closed captions from .scc file are imported, I had only a 5 line file to test  . Dang! You went and added so many features and fixed most of the reported "issues." I'm so happy right...

Re: Fixing frame rate to 24 of use "Same as Source", for DVDs?
It depends on what the original source was. I would select to detelecine and decomb default and set to same as source. That way, if the DVD contains telecined frames, you'll go from 29.97 back to near the original 24fps.

I know you specified "Windows Mobile", but did you try the Universal preset under "Apple" or just the "Normal" preset? I would think that a Windows mobile device could also play anything encoded with the Apple Universal preset.

Are you sure you're ripping the correct title? Make sure by watching it in the DVD Player app first, playing the "version" without it turned on, then note the Title under the Go menu. Make sure you're ripping that same title.
And, also, of course, whatever Rodney says, too.

Re: Progressive Shot Material for TV -> soft telecine in there ?
Because those two activity logs are long gone, I'll run aa pair of encodes (either the same Caprica or from another BSG episode) and will post again here. Read the red box at the top. Unless you deleted the files off your HD, each individual encode log is saved for future retrieval. I have encode l...
