Do the Open Source Title Specific and make sure you have the latest VLC on your machine. It worked for me.

Re: Leatherheads wont rip - crashes
reportedly using fairmount / dtox does work. However, you have to wait a long time for fairmount to read all of the back blocks (there are over 3000 of them), then suddenly dtox will load up the source. Then choose title 33, in a movie only rip. I have not tried this but reportedly it does work. Ap...

Re: READ ME / POST HERE if a specific DVD/Movie won't rip
The Simpsons, Season 11 DVD Same problem as with Season 10. Both HB and MTR bomb out when trying to scan discs 2 and 4. However, unlike Season 10, it works perfectly when you scan it Title Specific. On Season 10, the video would also be scrambled if you tried scanning it Title Specific. try using t...

There has been multiple solutions posted in past topics where you can rip both discs with HB and then use other products to merge the 2 .mp4 or whatever format that you choose...some suggestions, imovie...mpegclip...finalcut, etc.....

Re: PS3 vs. Apple TV
Hi! I'm fairly new to Handbrake and I have a few questions. 1. I am currently ripping my DVDs using the PS3 setting. Will these videos work on an AppleTV that I plan to purchase later on? 2. I had started ripping my DVDs using the Apple TV setting but would now like to convert them to PS3 format. I...

Heroes, Season 2 (tested w/ 0.9.2) HandBrake tells me that the encode is done seconds after the encoding process has started, resulting in a blank file. However , everything works fine when ripping from Title Specific. Also, does anyone have a work around for the "defect" discs in The Sim...

I found out I only have Season 3, which discs are you having issues with, all or certain discs? I am going to pick up Season 4 from the store if they have it in. In the meantime let me know which discs you are having issues with.

Re: READ ME / POST HERE if a specific DVD/Movie won't rip
Having trouble with Speed Racer. So far I have burned everything but the first part (maybe 20 minutes) but it won't get the first part. Used MacTheRipper for the initial rip, and it had some "dummy VOB" which I chose the pod VOB option. Not sure how to get around this issue. Which version...

I do it all the time with TV shows after tagging shows in the wrong order when I assumed they were just in the right order on the DVD.

its not the computer, i have a brand new macbook pro myself and handbrake works gloriusly even with the built in mbp drive and external sony drive, for handbrake to crash when trying to scan, is most likely the result of the disc itself which sounds like its encrypted

just save it as an .mp4 file and you should be good, some dvds have extras, etc, just be aware of the time length and that should help you gauge things, i generally rip everything thats 3 minutes+ and sort it out when its done, results may vary, every dvd is different

If using fairmount and dtox didnt work then try acquiring Mactheripper 2.66 or 3.0 and do an arccos rip of the dvd and then rip with hb in simple when using fairmount with dtox or dvd remaster it finds the bad blocks so the rip can happen, unfortunately it doesnt always work but generally does just ...
