DVDFab (end eac3to, too, afaik) can run under Wine in Linux, though.

Yes. It's exactly as playing the DVD from a regular DVD-player.

Re: Total Noob - How To Play Complete DVD on Popcorn Hour...?

Hello. I am a total noob to this whole experience. I am buying a Popcorn Hour to be able to stream videos from my computer to my TV. I am wanting a good way to be able to view an entire DVD with the Popcorn Hour. From what I understand, MKV is the best way to do this. However, I don't have any idea...

Re: Can HB Work a .vob file with no companion .ifo file?

I'd love an authoritative response of "You are out of luck with no .ifo file" or "HB should be able to handle it, you've probably got bad vob files" so I can stop holding my breath. Doesn't seem like it would take too much effort. Can HB Work a .vob file with no companion .ifo f...

Re: Handbrake MP4 Files Don't Have Thumbnails

My apologies, I worded my original post a little unclearly. It should have read: "I am using Windows Vista 64-bit for my primary operating system. I have the k-lite codec pack (64-bit version) installed, which allows explorer to display thumbnails for most .mp4 files I have , but for some reas...

Re: Handbrake MP4 Files Don't Have Thumbnails

My original post clearly states that I am referring to thumbnails in windows explorer. Sounds more like a windows explorer problem to me. First you need to figure out why Windows Explorer doesn't generate thumbnails. If the answer to that is that the files aren't standards compliant, then it'll be ...

Re: Battlestar Galactica: Title number to Episode number mapping

Does it have a "play all" title? If so, you can compare block size of all chapters in this title to the chapters of the other titles, to identify the playing order.

Re: Ability to Schedule Queue

Would it be possible (or is it already?) to save a queue as a list of HandBrakeCLI commands?

Re: Batch conversion using CLI via Perl or Shell script??

Thanks a lot to ronnor for getting me started on this. :) Now we could just use a few command-line options for maximum length, minimum length and input folder (and maybe even output folder). Maybe something like: -s "shorter than x minutes" -l "longer than x minutes" -i "in...

Re: Batch conversion using CLI via Perl or Shell script??

In a nutshell, it will process any mpeg2 file (DVD, Capture from most PVR cards, Transport Stream files from OTA HD, etc.). Aha! Of course. Neither of the files I've tested are mpeg2, so that explains it. (Did you try the GUI to see if you got an error there?) No. I'm only using the command line ve...

Re: Batch conversion using CLI via Perl or Shell script??

trondmm, can you post your full CLI command and any changes you made to the script? Sure. I didn't actually use the script, though. I tried to run the handbrake command your script executed for each of the files it found. Like this: $ handbrake -i test.mpg -o test.mp4 -e x264 -b 300 -B 128 -R 48 -E...

Re: Batch conversion using CLI via Perl or Shell script??

This is slightly different from your request, but I figured out to to loop through a dir full of MPEGs (from my BeyondTV PVR). for i in $(find $1 -name '*.mpg') ; do /Applications/Video/HandBrakeCLI -i $i -o $i.mp4 -e x264 -b 300 -B 128 -R 48 -E faac -f mp4 -I -w 480 -m -x level=30:cabac=0:ref=1:an...
