Just a "Thank you" for this sticky
Downloaded the latest 64-bit versions of HandBrake, Fairmount, and VLC (1.0.2 for the Mac). Had been away from ripping/encoding for a bit (work, burglary, so a forced tech refresh). Went through my usual workflow (Fairmount -> DVD2oneX2 -> HandBrake). All files loaded into HandBrake for processing s...

Re: iPhone Chapter naming
FWIW, I have encoded using 0.9.2, and I am able to see my chapter titles just fine on my iPhone. I'm sorry I don't have any other suggestions. If you change the chapter titles in MetaX, do they show up on the iPhone?

Thanks, Rodney,
I get the scroll bars in Safari 3.1, and in Firefox 3.0b4, but both stop at footnote [4].

Re: iPod H.264 Video Capability Chart Question
Ah, thanks. Glad I didn't throw away my rips. I'll reencode. I also want to thank this forum for turning me onto MetaX...which is a fine adjunct to HandBrake.

iPod H.264 Video Capability Chart Question
Great sticky, very helpful. I've already got a sweet preset I've put together based on the iPhone preset...enables me to watch movies on my iPhone, and in surround sound and very good quality on my AppleTV. I've been using 640 x nnn with loose anamorphic. I notice that the sticky ( http://forum.hand...

And I thought I was the only one...
So far, I've never had this combo fail on me (Fairmount and DVD2OneX2), on over 50 of my movies. It's all I use now. And since I have dual optical drives on my MacPro, I create 2 instances of DVD2OneX2, and can rip 2 movies in parallel. Wait, it just dawned on me that I am probably violating DVD2One...

This has been discussed in multiple threads here, and there is, so far, no reliable solution. Some find relief by accessing the disk, others by putting the machine asleep and waking it. Neither has worked for me. I'm still getting the same behavior in version 0.9.0 on the same movies. However, in my...

My apologies for not doing a better search...
The other thread on this topic ( http://handbrake.m0k.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2384&highlight=stuck+100 ) pointed me right to the support wiki, where this topic is mentioned. I'm going to try again this morning, and see what comes of it. Thanks for your patience, and, again, sorry for the unnec...

This has also happened to me.
I've had it happen with the latest beta, and also with a svn version I built yesterday. Both times, I would start encoding a movie overnight (I checked my sleep settings...the computer was awake and "working" when I got up)...but, 8-10 hours later, it was at 100%, very little CPU usage, an...

OK, back, stopping and thinking about things (between bites at a late lunch at work)... Myself, I actually find HandBrake's interface just fine. The only reason I'm interested in seeing Crunch is to glean the settings for the iPhone. Right now, my main dilemma is not what program to use (HB it is, n...

Think I ran into Ticket #52 problem tonight
I have been ripping and encoding away with HB, 0.8.5b1. No real problems until a certain DVD, whose main title was just over 3 hours in length. The process got all the way through, and then silently crashed during the muxing. File size? 4Gb. (Well, reported as 4.07Gb). All settings were vanilla Appl...

Spontaneous reboot of my Mac Pro with certain settings
First, let me say that I am delighted with HandBrake 0.8.5b1. I've switched over from another product...HB does everything I need and more. :D After downloading the latest beta, I went to preferences, chose CRF and PAR; then chose AppleTV preset, and chose a constant quality setting of 74, instead o...
