Re: Forced Subtitles as default?

I wouldn't want to assume that users would want a subtitle with each title/source they encode. I don't want to beat this topic to death... I appreciate the fact that you worked with me on this. I just want to point out that I think it would be safe to assume that if the user selects forced subtitle...

Re: How to apply patches in WinGui

I found this thread WinGUI unexpected behaviours (several) and was hoping to apply the patch for the queue bug found here: http://trac.handbrake.fr/changeset/2046

How to apply patches in WinGui

[Posting in fear of getting bashed like the new member "diver86er" did on his first post on the forum.] I read the FAQ. There is a "How do I work with patches?" When you click that you get "How to create and use a patch in Linux." Is there a link on how to apply a patch...

Re: Post Your "Best Settings" here and Why.

So, I end up with the following custom presets (based off of the Universal one, and only done for my convenience) using "Source Maximum" for picture size and checking "Use current picture filters" when saving the presets: - Universal AAC (Universal Preset + Deteleceine + Decomb ...

Re: Xubuntu Falls Asleep

It looks like this was posted before the release of 0.9.3. I was just about to install Xubuntu 8.10 on an external hard drive just to try out handbrake 0.9.3. I'd like to have the ability to use the "full feature parity with the Mac interface". Since I'm using windows I'm missing out on a ...

Re: Forced Subtitles as default?

I figure what I am asking for is impossible unless a developer will tell me how to change the default from within the core of the application. I don't see that happening unless there are enough people requesting the same thing.

Re: Forced Subtitles as default?

Ahh, what if I do what you said above... Add it to the query. If I select forced subtitles, then generate a query will I get forced subtitles. It looks like the generated query will stick. So if I do this I can- select my custom preset and generate a query. Then I will retain these settings througho...

Re: Forced Subtitles as default?

Select the Universal Preset, enabled subtitle scan and forced subs and save it as a new preset. Then, Scan Source, Select your new preset and then add to queue. You'll need to select the preset on different titles to. (Note you may need to change preset first, i.e Universal2 -> other preset -> Univ...

Re: Forced Subtitles as default?

I've just checked. When using autoselect and forex subs, it does remember them in the preset. Scan > select preset > Forced and subscan is enabled. Not all DVD's contain subs, nor is it always the case that a user would want subs for every source (bare in mind they are hard burned in which could ru...

Re: Forced Subtitles as default?

Now why exactly would you not just check the options in the GUI? The answer to that question is in my first post. I said "I am going to run a large music video library through handbrake. Each DVD has 25 music videos that are separate "Titles". Each time I select the next title, the s...

Re: Forced Subtitles as default?

OK.... I think I can just add this to the end of the string

:--subtitle-scan=1:--subtitle-forced=1

I'm just not sure about spaces and if these need to be separated with the colon. Is that correct? Will this enforce forced subtitles even though these options are not selected in the gui?

Forced Subtitles as default?

I am using 0.9.3 Windows GUI. Is it possible to add Subtitles: Forced Subtitles to the Advanced String Option? If so, what is the command? It seems like this would be the default. As I would think most people would want the forced subtitles when they are there. If there are no forced subtitles, it j...

I am expecting to my laptop to arrive in the mail soon. It has Vista 64-bit. I am hoping to be able to run handbrake on this laptop. I'm not sure what the OP is asking. So please clear something up for me. Will the current handbrake work 0.9.3 properly on Vista 64-bit as a 32-bit application. I am n...

Re: problems adding cover art to m4v file

... where did it move?

I'd suggest "Tag & Rename". I can tag m4v/mp4 files with that program, no problem. I tried out a bunch of tagging programs about 6mo ago. Tag & Rename came out on top for me.

Re: WinGui Snapshot

- changing tracks does not change 2pass or quality settings. - Audio tracks is title/source dependant. While a preset may load in x tracks of data, if you select a new dvd title, then you have to re-set the audio information. Each dvd title has different audio tracks and different numbers of tracks...

[Resolved] WinGui Snapshot

I'm using wingui snapshot 1477 build 2008053101 on winxp sp3. I'm really not sure that these are considered bugs or just annoyances, but here it goes. I am not asking for support on a snapshot build. Just giving my observations. And hoping for some feedback. I have my default settings/preferences se...

AFAIK, decomb has only been included in the Mac GUI... Is decomb planned to be included in the Windows GUI for the final release of 0.9.3? Definitely, once jbrjake has finished tweaking and tuning it. In the meantime, you should be able to pass the decomb option manually by adding it to the advance...

I think I got it all figured out. The advanced code gets intelligently changed as you change checkboxes and settings within the gui.

I'll look for decomb when i get home tonight.

Re: Post Your "Best Settings" here and Why.

Big difference is always using CRF=64 (except for concert DVDs... this high of a value typically results in a very large file),... What do you do differently for concert DVDs? That is actually what I'm in the process of doing... Music Video DVDs and Concert DVD? Why do they require something differ...
